Now sure how practical this action will be for web or printing, but
at least I got it out of my system!

Let me know what you think and if the action runs O.K. for you.

Thanks,

Funning you should mention the weather looking good. We had a few seconds of no rain. I shot about 30 pictures, on my tripod, all OOF, because of the winds. This was the best I cold get. It was really pouring rain. Crazy night. When we returned home and watched the news we thought how lucky we were not have had problems. Up to 50 mph winds, downed power lines, power outages, downed trees, roads closed. All in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle. We were soaked. 45 min south of there is our home, nice calm, dry night, nothing going on !!!
Thanks for the 2nd link,
Katz

....this was my first time at using an action.....and how neat it is to see it all happen with the touch of a button!

Here's my very first triptych....thanks again for the actions!

Lucy,

That is really a beautiful sunset-great shot!

I noticed the picture is a little short on the right side.
To size the image after pasting:

select-all, edit/transform then adjust the size and placement of the image so it is to the outside of the mat openings.

Thanks for the feedback-greatly appreciated!

.....I noticed that AFTER posting it....arghhh! I'll have to go back and fix that!

That is the tool that I used, but missed the boat on the right side. Just got so excited seeing it work that I missed that detail. LOL

You've created a really nice action and frames....thank you! I'll be looking for another shot to try it with.

Download Action from here:
http://www.mikedubu.com/MW_Triptych_Frame_Action_1_2006.atn.zip

To use Action:
Open Photoshop, then run action.
One large picture or three pictures can be sized and placed below
Mat layer after action runs.
The openings are for 4" x 6" x 150 ppi pictures. You can reduce for
web or can print as 6" x 10" x 240 DPI.

Download and try the action and let me know if it runs O.K. or post
something here to share.

Mike, your action looks great. I'm new to PSE3 and the retouching forum. My basic question is - can I use PS actions in Photoshop Elements 3?? I downloaded the action and extracted the files to the Adobe "PS Actions" file within the "Plugins/Presets" file. I couldn't find anything within the editor program to use. I have successfully added plugins from multiple sources in the past. Are "actions" different?

Thanks to anyone wo takes the time to answer.

Is there a way to modify the action to run and not end up with the
two lines through the frame so it becomes a single frame?
To delete the center bars:
Use magic wand to make a selection of the left window.

Move selection to the right to cover 1st bar then delete. Move again to cover 2nd bar then delete.

Try this and let me know if this works for you.
