Need help on these. I'd decided on the Z750 but I'm told the only weakness of the Z750 is that is has an underpowered flash (including this site)

others say its fine and can be "turned up"

please help!

is the Z120 any better, or should i go all the way up to the P700
is the s600 worth a look? the size looks fantastic?

thanks guys

I have the Z120 and love it.

the flash can be adjusted by -2 / +2 and when i have tested it, there is a REAL difference in the results - though i m generally happy with the default flash setting.

You have to be mindful that some people don't always appreciate the limtations of various equipment and complain when a compact does not light up an entire stadium.

Compact flashes generally work at the 5 - 11 foot type range at Wide angle - using telephoto will reduce this. It strikes me that the Z120 does what it should.

The Z120 is a godd all rounder, though i can't compare it to the other models.

Pavlos, you really need to deicde what are you going to use the camera for and coming from there define what is your outmost priority .
Is it the looks? Then you need S600.

Is it pocketability? Then you have to choose between S600 and Z750, but possibly compromise on image quality or control over it, if choose the S600.

I would avoid the Z120 as it is not as slim, not a looker (IMHO) and while being a newer model than Z750, it is already priced 30% cheaper in the sales. What do you think could be a reason for this?

The P700 is much larger size and lacks all the above nicities but gives you better lens, higher zoom, full control over the image quality and other Pro features if you ever need them

I own a SONY F828, a P600 and just purchased an Z750. I will see how it goes and then may sell the P600 on, despite the fact I like it a lot!

thanks. that helps a lot.

I have my old Exilim Z4 which i can use as my lightweight everydayer.

The only problem i've seen on this site with the 750 is that is has a bad flash, is that true as I will be doing a lot of pic taking in clubs and bars, sometimes at distance.

im not fussed about looks at all, although weight and size would be nice to keep as low as poss.

I'm not very versed in using manual controls just yet. but would like to get to know obviously. any opinions?

you may want to look at the Fuji F10 or F11 if you need a low light indoor capacity

so confused.

still leaning towards the Z750. has anyone had really terrible experiences when in low light and using flash (maybe at distance)

before i spend this money!!

Here is a flash shot I took outside aftter we got snow. The closest part of the bushes are about 5 or 6 feet away and the furthest is about 12 or more feet.

Another thing I have missed from my recos is the movie mode!

Buy S600 and Z750 if you want higher quality movies or P700 for photos.

Given that you already have a small pocket camera the P700 could be a better idea. Have you considered the P505?

i dont see a problem with the flash on my z750. I bring mine to parties, clubs, bars, and it takes pictures fine. Maybe if i'm trying to take a picture of someone 20ft away, but in those kind of situations, its usually you with some friends no more than 6-7 ft away, and the flash is fine.

For me, flash would not be high up on the list of important things in a camera. I think it ruins the picture and makes it look very unatural. Low light performance is much moe importrant
