It's nice to live in a part of the world where you can smell the roses in the middle of winter.

I have to be honest, I don't have a clue what I'm doing with the R1.

But I like it.

What are your plans for your R1 site? It looks quite nice, but I can't speak German.

Lovely roses! Lucky, lucky you to be able to smell roses in the midst of winter!! Peg

There were a lot of people in the park and they all seemed to end up in the rose garden, which is crammed full of blooming roses. Things seem to grow so well here. It was unusually warm this holiday. Thanks for your comment, Peg.

My plan is to collect the experience of professionell R1 Photograhers . Some guy send me some ideas and some want to take part a the projekt. For the moment it is possible tp post pictures wich should show the power of the R1. But we also want to show were the cam has its negative sides. So take a look at the new oictures and post some of your great picture its no problem to write your opinion in english.

Nice shots, John.

They seem to be slightly over exposed. It looks to me that the flash was too strong on the first one as light is being reflected from the petals. Perhaps you need to diffuse it a little, even with a tissue or a napkin if in a hurry.

Just my opinion. Sorry to be critical.
Good luck.

is kind of an interesting state. I don't know how to shoot macros, and I don't know which settings to use on my R1. So....just try something. But that means that the next time I come up to a rose, I'll still be without a clue.

The F707 is famous for blowing the reds out, and for changing their colour. So I wanted to see what the R1 would do with a red rose.

I checked the EXIF and the flash did fire, so maybe you are right. I was standing back and using telephoto and macro, so the flash wasn't right on top of the flower. I'll have to take a few more and see if I need a diffuser. I might have done some damage in post, because I really feel clueless to get the best out of the R1 images.
