D200 "On Assignment" [pics]

I'm happy to say Santa brought me a D200 this Christmas to
complement my beloved D70. It took a little tweaking to optimize
the output, but I think as all the RAW converters start supporting
this camera, we'll see better and better results. Personally, I'd
prefer NOT having my camera act as the converter!
Agreed.
So here's a few shots from yesterday...all the food is shot w/ 50mm
1.8 at ISO100, various apertures w/ tripod using in-restaurant
lighting. The D200 is really close to spot-on WB & Matrix Metering,
but I still tweaked it a little to in C1 Pro [w/ pre-prod D200
support].
Outstanding product shots Chris' , I can see myself flipping through a high quality menu featuring the dishes you've captured. Really quality work..and I doubt the D200 had as much to do with it as your great eye for light and post processing technique.

I look forward to seeing and learning more from your work.

Regards,

Looks kinDA* like chromatic aberration on the resized pic, but not so much @ 100% crop. It's pretty high contrast right there so it could be CA, but regardless it's definitely a lens/lighting/pp issue, not a problem inherent to the D200.

WOW! Nice pictures. So it looks like SINO is now open. Maybe I have to go and try out the food. They sure look delicious from your pictures.
I always thought they used "fake" food (with wax and stuff) for pictures.

Anyways, I have a question for you and others.
I'm getting the D200. Now you shot these "product" photos with
the 50/1.8, but do you have the 60 2.8 Macro?

Which would you prefer if you didn't factor in the price, the 50 or 60 for this type of work?

double thumbs up it's very impressive indeed. Skills is the crucial factor that allows this impressive photographer to come up with what he has shown us...

keep it coming......
