artists at work

the 17-35 never leaves my bag and is quite often on my cameras (D2x - F5) and yes, it shines - great lens, I never regretted one minute the money I gave for it (though, it open a little hole in my credit card hehe)

Where is the finished piece. I enjoyed looking at the images but it felt as if I was left out because there was no shot of the finished product they were working on. I suppose you wanted to post the nice shots but they left me wanting more.

Hi Vieri,

Thanks very much for the info and guidance. Please keep posting and teaching here - it's great to learn from you and it's really fun to see your results.

Happy New Year, Yada
thank you very much for commenting - well, lighting was either
natural light or (the shots with the light coming from below
towards the working girl) with a couple of SB-600 in remote.
Colors, is the D2x in mode III (generally), and tone comp set to
normal. In post, I add some contrast with curves, and I play a
little with the channel mixer to increase saturation (never with
the hue/saturation); then, add a little level to balance exposure
if needed and that's about it... resize for the web, a little
sharpening, done! Of course, each image has different settings for
all the above, according to taste and to what each image needs.
Hope this helps, and of course i am glad to help and share, no
buggering at all :)

best regards,

Vieri

hehe I see your point - unfortunately, carpet making is something that takes quite some time; as you can see from some of the pictures, the carpet the lady is working on has just been started when I went for the shooting: so, I couldn't take pictures of a finished carpet at the time. I might be going there again though, is still in the works. In case, I'll make sure there will be a finish carpet's image... thanks for commenting, best regards
