Composite Picture

Jag1,

When I saw the background I thought it would look good as a background for one of my egret pics. The most important thing is that the light direction is the same for all pictures in the composite. Sometimes it can be faked by careful shading.

I then used Flood Filter by Flaming Pear to create the water

The egret picture was placed on top of the background and I carefully masked it.

Colour balance on the egret layer to match the colour tone between the 2 pictures. Then I did some burning and dodging to accentuate the shadows and added overall colour, saturation and curves to taste.

Very good! I love that!

Years ago I took a panoramic view from my (3rd floor) balcony. Couples of years after I created this: http://www.pbase.com/lbronstein/image/52867951

Yea, nothing stays forgotten forever. It can be utilized any moment - we just need a spark. Right?

The egret is way too light for the background; the sun is behind the clouds, after all. In addition, in order for the light to be reflected off the wings like that, there would have to be a second sun off to the left front somewhere. It looks completely fake.

Did you ever here of openings in clouds

If you drew a line from the upper right corner of where there is an opening you could get that light along with a few other unseen openings in the clouds. The color tone is correct and the effects are good.

Have seen many less believable photos in hunting mags. that they paid a fortune for
