Not a test. Just some seasonal pics from Toronto with CP8800 and with the last few the D200. Just for enjoyment of the season and as I go through a learning curve in the use of the new camera. If you go back in time in the photoblog you will see that the 8800 does a great job except in low light, fast focus, ISO above 50.

Hamilton's first D200 owner!

Hi Bryan. Just tried it. It is working ... maybe traffic ... it's Google's blogging software and hosting at blogger.com. They host millions of sites I understand ... and at no cost so far so I cannot complain.

Working now John, it was going to a DNS error page before. I like the pictures of the leaves. Very nice.

Not sure if you were asking me or John, but in case it was me, I got it at Bell Arte Camera in Hamilton.

Thanks for replies. I was at Vistek and Henrys on Monday. At that time neither had a clue when orders were to arrive.

Love the B&W stuff.

Thanks for the look. Actually, I have to force myself to work in B&W. I like colour too much ... Most of my B&W are de-saturated, not BW mode. Is there a real difference? Better contrast? I have trouble seeing any si I de-saturate.

Actually, I was driving right by on Tuesday and dropped in but no cameras. Half-way home I got a call that mine was in. No problem as I was on Bayview and it's fast to downtown.

Great Pics! I really liked your gallery

I just picked my camera up today from Henry's in TO.

It's funny, I've been reading all the posts about how the D200 is not for beginners and I was pretty discouraged and was almost not going to get it.

I know it will take me probably a year to learn proper photography techniques as I'm an absolute beginner, but I'm willing to take some classes and put in the time to learn. I'd like to take photography up as a serious hobby.

Anyway, I was spending a couple hours flipping through the menus tonight and my fiance was making fun of the fact that I was having a romatic night in with my new camera. I laughed, grabbed one the candles she had going and bottle of port and snapped a quick jpeg to commemerate the occassion.

I know the quality is absolute rubbish, but I thought I'd post one of my first ever SLR photos...Extremely low light. Bare in mind I'm just learning the basics...I'm not too sure how I should have shot this pic, any advice? Peferable not of the 'go buy a D50' variety. ;D
