Why working from home is great...

Mr. Eggplant

I note the black marker in the forground - I hope your cat was not
altered just for the shot. (BTW Photshop is easier and results in
fewer scratches).

As to the rest of this ensuing thread:

You simply asked any and all (including newbies) to raise the bar a
bit on their photography. This is consistant with your posting
history. Hypocracy is when you behave inconsistantly with your
words and who you are.
I agree. And if the picture I shared was a mediocre, overflashed, out of focus, boring snapshot, then you could safely seat me in the hypocrite section. But that isn't the case here. What I shared was a lovely, thoughtful, well composed image that meets all the technical criteria to quailfy it as a photograph.
BTW: It occurs to me that by asking people to think about their
photography before posting all the new baby picturs, you kept the
focus on photography. Had you posted after, then you would have
been accused of insulting ugly babies. Yes, there are indeed ugly
babies: Just ask my mom.
I know. I know sigh

Hey Rich,

If it wasn't for you my infrequent visits over here would be even more infrequent. You are the only person I know who could get attacked for posting a cat picture. A fine looking cat it is too. All we need now is a llama.

Working at home is great but being retired and not working at home has it beat.

Keep on posting. rotflmao

Wow. Your telling me this is not a boring ho-hum picture. I guess thats subjective, but to me its boring....nothing special and I thought by your previous message that special is what you wanted. I cant believe you actually sat down and thought about this shot before you took it. It looks to me like you saw your cat just lying there and thought it would be a fun shot to share so you grabbed your camera and pushed the button to take the snapshot. However, you were not counting on someone speaking negative about it and now your trying to make it out to be better than it actually is. However, if you did indeed put thought into this picture before pushing the button then I apologize. I do, however, suspect the others dont agree with me because your a well liked member of the community who contributes a lot (and you've made that clear many times lately) and to stay on your good side people will agree no matter what you post. I've seen it before here. Your a much better photographer than I am so I expected much better than I would get. This looks like something in my catalog so maybe I am better than I thought I was.

So being "technically" good is all we need to be to get your approval to post pics of our kids/pets/whatever. Fair enough.

Knowing I'm in the minority here of people that dont mind speaking there thoughts, I actually thought twice about hitting the post button after writing my original response to you because I knew this would happen. It reminds me of the good ole days when STF had another well liked member that used to remind those that spoke out about how good he was and how much he has contributed to the Sony world.

I also find this amusing. I remember (I think it was you) reading where you thought it was wrong for people to praise a picture they did not think was good just to be nice or conforming. Yet, here I am being honest and I am being bashed for it. Told I am looking for any chance to jump on you and that I follow you. Dont flatter yourself Evil.

I'm sorry it came to this. Believe me I dont want the 'Andy' type arguments/fights to come back so I will hold back my opinions as not to upset the great community that is SFT. I should of left back then. This darn place is hard to leave even though I rarely contribute anything good. I read a heck of a lot here though so I guess thats what keeps me hanging around...that and the PC Tools forum.

Evil, I hope you and your family have a great holiday season.
