***SUG BOOK*** Naming Ideas?

How about:

The Eye of Sigma

It's a takeoff on "The Silicon Eye," the great book about Foveon, and by association, Sigma. That is all very relevant to our Sigma team.

The aspect of the SDx cameras that appeals to me is that they capture a more truthful version of the world around us. So, something that would impart that would be good.

Here are some ideas/themes off the top of my head, that invite refinement.

"True Vision: A Selection of Foveon/Sigma Images"

"The World, In Depth: Images Using Sigma/Foveon Technology"

"Through Our Eyes: 2005 Sigma User Group Images"

Mix and match, edit, change around... sometimes it helps to put words down to stimulate creativity even if what is written is universally hated.

'Do you think a man can change his destiny?'
'I think a man does what he can until his destiny is revealed.'

Rick, that is the funniest thing said in a while.

And so apropos ;).

Best out there among the Wiamea hot dogs (have you got the active position of that lawn chair waxed yet?)

Well the bible has the "book of job" maybe you guys should name it
"the book of Sig" and then you could sell it through religious
channels.

I really like the direction of the 3 ideas. My favorite is "True Vision: A Selection of Foveon/Sigma Images"

I like the first one too... but too keep it for the next time (2006?), let's incorporate the idea from #3 title vis a vis the edition year... So:

"True vision: A Selection of Foveon/Sigma Images -- 2005 Edition"

On a book title... front cover... would it make more sense and look
better to use the / inbetween Foveon and Sigma, or an & ... or the
word AND ?

Actually, Chris... If I may be so bold as to elaborate on your thought... the more I think about it, I actually think the title s/b "Sigma/Foveon", not "Foveon/Sigma", because it is actullay the Sigma camera taking the pictures utilizing the Foveon sensor... A camera can exist without a sensor (non-digital, of course), but the sensor is no good without the camera to employ it...

Further, keep the forward-slash ( ) for much the same reason... The Sigma employs the Foveon and together they are one...

In a food recipe, would you actually call for the next step utilizing the flour & sugar mixture? or flour AND sugar mixture? Or, instead--without using too many unnecessary words-- flour/sugar mixture?

Hence, my revised title choice:

"True Vision: ASelection of Sigma/Foveon Images -- 2005 Edition"

my 2 cents

"Wonderfull world of Sigma"
"As we see world"
"Pure Bliss, through Lens of Sigma"
"Colors - Sigma"

Will send somemore this weekend

I could like #3 here, too - title / subtitle combo, but still with the edition year (i.e.: 2005) so we can re-use as a series bulider...

Hi folks

you should be aware, that there are very few people which know (the qualities) of Sigma/Foveon. Therefore we should avoid to choose an "insider-title", which does say nothing to 90% of the people, who see the book anywhere.

Therefore I propose (only) as subtitle something like "The world through the lens/eye of SIGMA digital cameras" or something like that, which points to the technology.

The main title has be something of emotional value, which hits the eye, the interest and brain of a passing by person.

"The depth of color"
"The magic moment"
"The magic of colour"
(Not "Our world", because I know our world ... ;-)

"The fascination of colour"
"The fascinating moment"
"The fascination of the moment" (the "blink"?)
"More than thousand words"
"The eye of the colour"

The view of the reader/viewer of the book must be nailed to the cover ... ;-)

(BTW: Here in Germany we would be in the difficult situation to have a look at the German Book Federation to see whether a given title is protected by a publishing company...)

I think you win the award for picking four titles, all of which have already been used before ...

Detroit Reds Wings - Original Six Hockey with Motown Style!
Twenty, eight, and two, we're back on track!
Ottawa is a fluke, the cup is coming home to Detroit!

Detroit Pistons - Fifteen and Two!
Number 1 in the NBA, and there isn't even a close second!

Detroit Lions - Third from the bottom, and we will take it!
Four and nine, even when when we lose, we do it right.

(I remember the 'good old days' of the net, when any signature over four lines was considered 'rude')

Ciao!

Joe
