Are You A Photographer or are You A........

I've started to make money, but not a living..so does that make me a semi-pro? grin

Sometimes a good photographer...but my failures aren't for lack of effort or thought...

Always a work in progress...so always a photographer to be with exceptions?

Very seldom a snapshot shooter...but I have my moments...

That's as honest an appraisal as I can give!

I have had people tell me that I am good but I know better. When I feel comfy enough to post a picture here for your review then I will have moved up a tad :)
But I really am enjoying the fun of learning and comparing.

I need a different category:
Person that tries hard, but has absolutely no eye for composition.

That's one of the great things about photography as a hobby - I can be totally inept but still enjoy it. Unlike basketball where the embarassment of air-balling a lay up eliminates any desire for me to continue playing. ;-)

I look on with envy at those who can spend much of their time with photography. Particular nature photography.

That's where I want to be, but I'm having one heck of a time figuring out how to get there.

Right now my web development skills pay the bills.

The challenge is to make photography pay the bills, while at the same time not comproming the enoyment of it all.
