Does such thing exist? I saw an ad for Lexmark P450 printer that claims it has build-in CD burner and can save your digital photos to CD. I am looking for a CD burner that can read from media card (compact flash & SD) and burn directly to CD without a computer. My in-laws do not know how to use a computer so I am trying to find an easier way for them to save their photos, since our Christmas gift to them will be a digital camera. And digital camera is no use if they can not save the shots. If there is no such thing exist, we might just buy the printer for the CD burning function.

Yes, they are. Here is one for CD. I saw one for both cd and DVD also, but I can not find the link.

Yes. There are a few of those portable CD/DVD burners available:

e.g. http://www.apacer.com/en/products/Multimedia_Storage.htm

Most places that will print your digital images (Walmart, etc.) will also back them up onto a CD for a small additional charge (Around $3 I think)

Thank you all for providing the options. These are exactly what I am looking for!
