D200 iso 1600 and 800

To me it sounds like after taking a couple of pictures, we start making conclusions about the performance from this camera.

I think we need to slow down and actually have the camera for a some time before making any assumptions.

It's a shame I probably won't get my D200 before Christmas holidays
and enjoy shooting Slovenian forest birds around Bled area

While I have no doubt that the D200 is superior to the D2X for noise, the same thing happened when the D2x was launched. On one side, we had the dark knights of nikon proclaiming that Canon had finally been defeated on the "sensor" side of things. And on the other side, you had the Canon Sith Lords proclaiming that the 20D and 1DMKII at ISO 3200 were equivalent to the D2x at ISO 200.

It was quite ridiculous, on both sides. Looks like we are in for a repeat performance.
