Any really great b&w conversions...

...that aren't actions? So I can do them in PS Elements. I'm very interested in learning to do b&w conversions but everywhere I turn: actions, actions, actions! Any advice? Thanks so much,

If you can do actions in your version, all you need to do is check your Playback options and see each individual step used in an action.

I don't know if this works in Elements... download Virtual Photographer plugin (google it).

Photo-Plugins B/W filter is one of my favorites. Also, you definitely should have Virtual Photographer in your arsenal as well. Both these fantastic jewels are free. Haven't tried Mediachance's B/W filter, but I really like the yellow/blue duotone image shown on their website (created a tone for GIMP that gives similar results, but I feel that Mediachance will do a better job; may try to download this program later (have of mediachance programs already and am very happy with them).
