Hello all,

When I came back from work, I went though the garden and I encounterd this little "monster" ...

It's a full size 800x600 crop.
Later this evening, it will be POTD on Belgium Digital in it's original size ...
Taken with the E-10 and I had to be rather quick ...
Luckyly, I'm fast in putting toghether the whole setup:
Mcon-35 + 2xCokin (+3) close-up lenses.
Manual focus, A-priority, auto white balance, ISO80
shutterspeed 1/125, f/5.0
I used the FL-40 bounced and used my famous "bad CD-R" as reflection screen ...
What do you think about it?

Great pic though I am not really amicable with those 'things'

Hi Jaja,
Let's organise a fight between the two of them? ;-)))
Nice picture of a scary subject ...
Although the white background doesn't provide that much "deph" in
my opinion, but that's only a personal opinion.
BTW, why didn't you try a macro shot of "the beast" ;-)))
Actually it's a dead one :-) It's put into a frame covered by a front glass. I was even considering to open the frame and take the beast out to get a better shot. I did change the background colour to be more white thinking it would be easy to add another background to it later on. Anyway, I bought it in Malaysia and it's suppose to be a very poison kind so I wouldn't care to much about meeting a living one.

Cheers
Jens

Hello Jukka,

They're not my favourite subjects, but my macro-setup couldn't resist ...
On monday, I had a commercial shooting with some pretty ladies.
Now that's a hughe contrast ;-)

Hello Joe,

So we're compagnions in the "burning bussiness" ;-)

Maybe we should setup a littile compagny, selling ultra-light reflection screens ...???

LOL!

Sounds like a plan....You take the Belgium division, I'll run the East Coast USA one, and maybe we can have Jason Bush run the West Coast! :)

Hello Jono,

Thanks.
And yes, I carry all my E-10 stuff all the time with me.
From the supermacro combination to the 610mm supertele ...
You should see my Lowepro Nova 5, or better, try to lift it ;-)))
BTW, I just saw your E-100 photos.

In the "autumn impressions" album on Belgium Digital, there's a macro version of your third photo ...

Hey Jaja, what did you mean by a bad CD-R? How did you have it with respect to the camera? I assume you were using it to bounce flash somehow? Thanks.

Hello Curly Joe,

The "bad CD-R" was quit a story a while ago.

When you go to the E-10 pages on Belgium Digital,"wet CD macro", you will see my "bad CD-R" and what I used it for - that's how it became "famous" ;-)

I also started to use it as a reflection screen for the FL-40 flash. It's light and easy to carry and easy to direct.
