D100 still works.......[PICS]

I'm curious, though. What is it about the D200 that you think might improve your work? A higher keeper ratio? Easier workflow due to less PP? More cropping latitude? Just that it's new?

I have a hard time looking at shots like yours and imagining much to improve.

What could a D200 do to make your shots better? It looks like you have the perfect combo already. If only Nikon or Canon could make a camera that would spit these kind of shots out without any PP'ing. I am sure that folks would complain about it looking too good though. :-)

Beautiful shots. That butterfly image almost stopped me in my tracks.

I too will be getting the D200 but will keep the D100.

You havn't seen the photos I'll shoot with the D200 :) No, but I always try to get the best out of my tool and I think there are some sizuations (wildlife, sports) I can use the better performance. And I work with many AIS and it's easier with the help of D200 AIS exposure control

The (hope so) brighter viewfinder will help me to focus my manual AIS better esp. in available light situations..

Hi,

Nr 1 with the AIS 50/1.4 at 1/25 with graduate gray ISO 200 tripod

Nr 2 with AF 55/2.8 Micro 1/80s f9 at ISO 200 (freehand!)

Nr 2 with AF 55/2.8 Micro 1/100s f5 at ISO 200 (freehand!)

I really like #1 and #3 and the colors are fantastic in #2. That view in #1 is gorgeous and you captured it nicely. If the D200 really is better than the D100 it is quite a camera and I expect it is. I'll be looking forward to some of your shots with it.

Best Regards

It's a known fact that Nikon D100 doesn't work anymore since the D70 hit the market.

This must be some picture taken using a Canon, as it's a known fact that Nikon isn't as competitive, and since your pics are better than mine, you must be using a better camera.

This being said, your pics are beautiful. They are the perfect example of what a capable photographer can do using the tools at hand... a still functioning curiosity as the D100 ;-).

I'd like the 2nd pic with that winged guy a bit more off-center, but that's just a personal taste. Really, nothing but praises can be said about these pics.

P.S. Pease don't buy a D200. I'd have to buy something better myself to make pics like yours ;-)

Really nice stuff mescamesh, I have to agree the D100 works great but D200 can still improve your work where the buffer on the D100 can cause you to miss that decisive moment.

Phenonmenal photos! Cameras are just tools to capturing the wonderful moments you have. Would love to see more of your work if you have an online gallery. Thanks for sharing.

The images are all outstanding but the first sunset scene is absolutely stunning. I like the way the layering of the hills in the landscape is reflected in the complexity of the cloud layers. Not just another sunset shot for sure and a tribute to your artistry! D100. D200. One is and one will be a capable tool in the hands and for the eye of the photographer! Thanks for sharing!

I can tell the frog was shot with a Canon FF, didn't you know you can't get that razor thin DOF with a crop frame, LOL. I love the frog, very sharp, no artifacts, just the right gloss. The others are very nice as well. Thanks for posting.
