The End Of Nikon

This initial post is in such poor taste. It speaks volumes about the original poster!

..The guy spouts off utter garbage only to not return and look at how many posts there are.

This isn't lame or childish...it's amusing.
No it's not. This guy just want to diss nikon and start flame wars etc
Where's your sense of humor?
Certainly not in this stupid thread.
What's wrong in your life
that a little good-natured
fun-poking angers you so?
Thank you mr shrink, but nothing's wrong in my life. Unfortunately you can't say the same about the people who just want to stirr up trouble. And btw, I'm not angry just tired of these totally useless threads.

we do. If nobody responds, it will disappear down the list very quickly, although this method is not bloodly likely.

If Canon were smart, they would buy a controlling share, say 49%, of Nikon. Share technology and reduce costs by cross manufacturing. But keep the brands and identities the same. Keep both companies in a bitter development against each other, foolong the market into thinking that there was real competition in the market place. One year, let Nikon ease ahead, other year let Canon pull ahead. And the shareholders of the larger oranisation can sit back and watch the fireworks as photographers junk and PX their entire lens collection to migrate to the "best" brand available each year. Either way Canon and Nikon win and the consumer thinks that they are happy.

Canon also produces calculator, fax, photocopy machine, printer, scanner etc....wow....

Well sorry, but your posting really shows you have absolutely no knowledge of the history of Nikon and Canon. I don't want to defend neither Nikon or Canon but what you are writing is absolutely rubish.

:-)
Why do people only see sport reporters as "the pro photographers" ?

try some other line of work like fashion, publicity, catalogs, portrait and you would see some funky names like Hasselblad and Mamiya...

.... and of course Nikon.

You also have to understand that for Nikon, the camera and camera len business is kind of a hobby. Nikon is a lens maker for optical instrument and eyewear and one of their main line of products are the steppers, the machines that is used to make their sensors. We should ask Sony and Canon what brand of stepper they use.

Once upon a time there lived a great, great company named, "Nikon".
Nikon use to make the cameras that all the professional
photographers used. They used them in the leading fashion
magazines, they used them in the leading newspapers, they even
took them to war. For many, many years they ruled the land. One day
digital was invented and everybody told Nikon to be smart otherwise
their enemies, "Canon" would destroy them.

Nikon tried but stumbled and Canon surged ahead in the race to
design, build and deliver a better product. The pros quickly
switched to Canon and everyone else in the world followed. Now just
a few lonely, angry people continue to wait for Nikon to catch up.
Everybody tells them to come over to our side, we welcome them with
beautiful cameras, with low noise and sharp images, its fun. The
Canon people all stand and watch the house of Nikon burn down. Its
a sad day, no one wants to see suffering like this. Once a great
behemoth, now reduced to nothing. A very sad ending yes indeed. So
to all Nikon folks over there crying and suffering, come over to
our side , we want you here with us, we are good people and we will
be your new friends.
it's photographer not the camera stupid!

Most cars are produced that way with great result. Not necessarily a bad strategy as long as engineers and designers stays at Nikon!
