1st FZ30 shot on Airliners.net ?

It don't look like a text book landing to me. First of all it looks like he's angled to his left on the runway. Secondly if he's making a xwind with a hand right wind he should have right ailerons and a lot of left rudder. Also it looks like he's just touched down a the beginning of the runway and his nose wheel should still be way up high not touching down at the same time as the mains???... :o)

I'll look forward to seeing them soon then!

I notice there are some other photos taken the same day by the same photographer, but these were taken with a 20D and some make no mention of the camera used. I've sent him an email to ask him about the FZ30 and if there are any more taken with the FZ30.

If only everybody on a.net would add-in which camera their photos were taken with. It would make life much easier.

What are your own thoughts re noise and general handling etc. in terms of aircraft shots.

Cheers,

Martin.

You are right. It is not a textbook landing. Great observation. What is your flying background?

Try this link for a nose down landing.

Noise cleans up very well with no detail degredation with NI... I also set the camera Pict Adj. settings to LOW with NR on standard and use ISO80 exclusively

the manual zoom ring is a dream come true... its so much better then electronic zoom. the camera also handles like a dream and its not hard to get used to.

Hi Mike, thanks for your reply. I will wait a while before deciding whether to go for an FZ30 or save up for a 10D/20D.

Thanks for the links. Look forward to seeing your first FZ30 shot on airliners!

M.

From my experience if you want to get pictures up on a.net and you want to do it very easily then go for the DSLR... i've noticed on the sight those with DSLRs get pictures up 10 times more often then those with prosumer and compacts... if you want a great camera that won't break your budget and still have a chances at getting good shots on a.net then go for the FZ30

I got my ticket at the Torrejon AFB, Aero Club Spain back in 1970.

When I got back to the States and stationed at Blytheville AFB, AR I got all my Commercial flying in but still needed 10 hours in type aircraft but they closed the Aero Club down.... :o(
I can't pass a 3rd class physical due to health now though.
