The End Of Nikon

...cause is useless for doing other things!

Come on, boys! Canon isn´t the golden crown many people makes you think of!

The AF system sucks as nothing else (low light or lenses other than 2.8 / front, backfocusing, no focusing...) and the colors look like slightly colored B/W. Watch the colorprofiles that come with Capture One and you see what I mean! So it´s clear that weak colored colorfilters on the sensor lead to less noise. They let more light pass to the diodes, but they aren´t capable of seperating slight color differences. Canon pictures always look kind of dirty to me, flash colors get muddy out of the cam.

And ergonomics is like driving a russian tank! Who the hell had this idea to nagigate through menus using a wheel and hold one button and release and press another...???
What about switching focus points on this golden eos 1 bodies???

Don´t forget Nikon ruled the market with the D1 long ago, Canon sleept those days! Things are changing, just wait and see...

Once upon a time there lived a great, great company named, "Nikon".
Nikon use to make the cameras that all the professional
photographers used. They used them in the leading fashion
magazines, they used them in the leading newspapers, they even
took them to war. For many, many years they ruled the land. One day
digital was invented and everybody told Nikon to be smart otherwise
their enemies, "Canon" would destroy them.

Nikon tried but stumbled and Canon surged ahead in the race to
design, build and deliver a better product. The pros quickly
switched to Canon and everyone else in the world followed. Now just
a few lonely, angry people continue to wait for Nikon to catch up.
Everybody tells them to come over to our side, we welcome them with
beautiful cameras, with low noise and sharp images, its fun. The
Canon people all stand and watch the house of Nikon burn down. Its
a sad day, no one wants to see suffering like this. Once a great
behemoth, now reduced to nothing. A very sad ending yes indeed. So
to all Nikon folks over there crying and suffering, come over to
our side , we want you here with us, we are good people and we will
be your new friends.

now i understand why sony is treathening to develop a KM-dslr but at the same time keeping an eye on purchasing nikon. best way would be nikon-sony-zeiss offering affordable and best digital and analogue cameras, also mechanical ones. then i would switch from contax/zeiss to NSZ(niko-sony-zeiss). otherwise i will hope new sigma-foveon will come true and reconfigure c/y-mount into m-42. zeiss-lenses adapted with sa-m-42-adapter. i think all partners are intelligent enough not to develop machines we were not waiting for. btw: my last 24x36mm-was 17 years back when i had lost 50% of my flash-images due to a defect in an electronical camera(contax 159mm, the lastest contax with external winder). i want a fully mechanical film camera with external winder like leica r6/r6.2 plus a digital FF-optiion. i think the industry is working hard to at least offer the digital-option. we just need to be patient.

It's bizarre that people in photo forums get exercised about the (supposed) failing financial health of some camera company -- and then troll for their fifteen minutes of fame, including gloating about the supposed pathetic nature of people who use those products. Gloating? Why gloating? Why the derision? Why should this possibly matter to anyone?

Someone who can't take a decent photograph with a Nikon won't be able to take a decent one with a Canon camera, either. Or a Hasselblad. Or an Olympus half-frame. Or an Instamatic. Or a pinhole camera. And the one who can, will -- probably with any of them. I've used Canon equipment for a long time, but despite Canon's current position in the market, it's becoming clear to me that Canon's lenses have not caught up to its current sensors, and this is one reason why a number of professionals and "advanced amateurs" are turning their attention toward non-Canon optics on full-frame Canon dSLRs. So while neither the quality of Canon's sensors and SLRs, nor the company's financial health, is in question, its current lens line is coming into question and there's no reason for anyone to gloat about that . Not that the lenses are "bad," generally, but in some cases they could be a lot better.

None of this matters to your average forum troll, of course. They'll gloat about nearly anything cuz it's just what they do, and probably it's all they can do...

I liked it! :-)
