A610 memory card speed and size limit

Can I use a 2 GB SD card with my A610? I don't want to dump large $$ on a card if it won't be compatible with the hardware...

Also, what is the minimum card speed required for continuous shooting/movie taking?

I see that people on this forum like Sandisk products. Any other recommendable? PNY, Kingston, ATP, Kingmax?

Corsair is well respected, and 133X. The faster the better.

Yes. But I think it would be wiser to purchase two 1 gig cards...

I have an 80X Transcend Card and has worked very well with my A610

canon recommends sandisk and i have heard of some having problems with other brands.

Transcend is made by Sandisc. Just apply a different brandname and sell cheaper: price discrimination to maximize profits.

I don't thinks that's totally right, since I know Transcend also has their own manufacturing line, different from SanDisk
