Any ideas? I tried graphic converter, but it did not work...

oh yeah

A year or so ago I tried a freeware program (freePhotoConverter 2) that would take a file of tiffs, reduce their size and save them as jpegs. One result was the erasing of each photo's info. Never did use it again for this and some other reason I can't recall just now. Try a search over at Versiontracker.com.

Photoshop's Save to Web feature will eliminate ALL EXIF data from any image. Makes no difference if shot with a Canon, Nikon, etc.

I think saving anything other than JPEG strips the EXIF information with PS or PSE

Not quite true; it depend's on particular format's abilities. For instance, using the "Save As" command and saving a JPG as a PSD or TIF will retain EXIF data, as those formats can store EXIF data as well as the image data.

Graphics Converter will remove EXIF data (and IPTC data too). At least with Mac Owners Version 5.7.

In Graphics Converter:

Choose File, Save As from the menu choices.

In the Save dialog window, give the image the desired filename, check the "Save web ready (without resource)" checkbox, and press the "Save" button.

Assuming you selected JPG format for the image to be saved, another dialog window will open. This window has several options under the section "Embed (if available)". Uncheck EXIF; then any EXIF data will not be included in the new file. Save for any other items chosen, such as IPTC data. Save the file.

Reopen the file in Graphics Converter; the EXIF data will be gone and not available.

...but why remove EXIF data? Other than the owner name, what else wouldn't you want anyone else to see?

It makes the file size remarkably smaller for posting online or emailing or whatever. It makes files significantly smaller...
