I shot this one while driving down the road. Rolled down the window slowed to about 45 mph and snapped the shot. Man I could just imagen what it would have looked like if I had time to stop and hold still really good. Would have probably been really crisp and detailed. What you think?

Wow! Sunsets are one of my favorite subjects. Every day there is a new chance for a spectacular one. I've never seen one that looked anything like that though. What part of the country is that from? Here is a recent sample of mine.

I'm in South Carolina, with the recent cold front we have had clear skies with a few clouds. Which makes for nice sunrises and sunsets.

LOL...Hmmm never thought about that aspect of it. But then again all I did was hold it out the window holding really still and push the button. I took about ten shots and this is the best one. Others were blurry or not in focus. Guess it would have been easier just to stop but I was in traffic and I don't they would have appreciated me stopping and holding them all up to take a picture. Unless it was one of the people from this forum...then you all would understand...wouldn't you. LOL

ROFL!!! Yes - I suppose we would have understood......Unless you were in the way of my getting that "once in a life time shot"! Then I might have turned to road rage and shoved your car out of the way LOL!!! Boy, we all seemed so nice just a few hours ago!!!!!

Oh and as long a you shove my truck from behind that's okay....Doh my neck..my neck ohhhhh my neck.....I gonna sue for a million dollars. LOL

Guess we all need to just stop and look at the beauty around us. And if you got your trusty Olympus take a picture of it and share it with the rest of us! So we can all enjoy it to.

Maverick, I happened to shoot that sunset, too, in North Florida. Here's my picture.

Wow, you guys get some great looking sunsets over there on the East coast. Were I am (Los Angeles), they look pretty red this time of year too, but it's from the smog! But now that Summer is ending the smog will diminish greatly and we'll get some nice cloud formations for some good sunsets. Looking forward to it because it's my first year with a digital camera. Not looking forward to the time change though, soon it will be dark when I get off work. Will have to wait for the weekends.
