This woman hates photographers[Link]

Unless the whole thing was staged, she was extremely upset, and the polite and proper thing to do was to stop. In reality she probably has little recourse, and it appears that whoever they were, they stayed on some public access.

Had it been me, I'd have gotten in my car and buried my head and/or tried to drive the heck out of there rather than gone off in public like that, but I can't be sure.

I don't know if getting righteously angry makes you a candicate for abuse or not. She didn't hit anyone.

And no one came to her defense, either there or here. What if she were being assaulted in another manner? I guess you nobody goes to bat for fat, unattractive people. I'm not projecting because I'm not fat but have friends who are or have been. If she was a cute thin little blonde, I think things might have been a bit different. Cut thin blondes go off on people, too, in public.

Why? If someone's being abusive I feel zero obligation to respond to abuse with politeness, even though as often as not I will just for the convenience of getting it over with.

"Righteously angry"? If she'd caught them fellating her German Shepard that'd be one thing, but it was just a skate crew that was apparently cooperating with her request to leave.

Because being filmed while you're making a nasty spectacle of yourself is just desserts. I'd feel completely differently if one of the skaters had punched her.

Not for me. A psycho's a psycho.
Cute thin blondes go off on people, too, in public.
More often probably, the cute sometimes get a sense of entitlement, "princess syndrome". Being hungry all the time makes people cranky too.

If she has kids and calls them for grits, I bet they come at the double.

That woman is a psycho and handled it the wrong way. Had she acted like and adult instead if a mad cow they would have lost interest AND she wouldn't be on a website now with people laughing at her.

Reminds me of a story that happened to me.

I was driving to my bank and some old lady tries to get in traffic against right of way and I don't let her in. She follows me to my bank and gets out screaming at me "I'm going to call the police!!", "You cut me off!"

I had pulled in to the lot and was getting out of my car. The car had been blocking her view of me so I walked calmly to the ATM and calmly said "go ahead and do it!". Just at that moment she sees the badge and gun on my belt as I step away from the car.

I wish I had a camera! The look was precious.

This post is less about photography than people with no IPC skills who are terrified cowards and like to threaten everyone with calling the police. People do that stuff to me all the time and I look like a cop! I think it's hysterical.

My favorite words of wisdom:

"Everyone has a purpose in life. It may be that your purpose is to serve as an example to others."

Is that your idea of cooperating? Filming her for a long time after she voiced her objections, albeit hysterically?

No it is not. She made it plain she did not want to be filmed and was hollering for someone to help her.

I'd feel completely differently if one
of the skaters had punched her.
That would have definitely escalated it.

She only yelled hysterically whereas a lot of guys would have punched the maggots out. Who is the psycho?

And the perks that go along with it including someone coming to her aid.

She may have just eaten. It looks like she may have come out of some sort of restaurant.

Oh well, at least she didn't flee with a chaffeur and end up dead in a tunnel.

are you that deputy sherriff that i read about in the funny pages that pulled his badge and his gun on some golfers that were taking too long to play the round? :)

She was apparently hysterical about the skate filming well before she knew she was being filmed. They agreed to leave, and were leaving.

So? Again, someone keeping to themselves or objecting to something in a reasonable manner I'd respect a request to not film. But if someone's already going off like this, screw 'em. She acted unbalanced enough having a tape for evidence in case something ugly went down was probably a good idea anyway
and
was hollering for someone to help her.
Well, she wanted 911 called as an effort to "get" the skaters, but there's no evidence that she felt threatened.

Beyond just escalation, it changes the moral framework--as it stood, she was the one being abusive and unreasonable. But physical violence is whole 'nother level.

An outnumbered guy would've tried violence? Now that would've been crazy. Unless he had gun. Regardless, just hte fact that there's room for even worse behavior doesn't excuse anything.

Uh, no, that was a reference to cranky cute thin blonds and how they stay that way.
Oh well, at least she didn't flee with a chaffeur and end up dead
in a tunnel.
Not that there's any evidence that was Di's doing--she'd dealt with paparazzi too long to encourage something that stupid and futile--you're going to outrun bikes in a limo? Yeah right. I firmly believe the chauffer was just a drunk schmuck who'd seen one too many Hollywood chase scenes, and maybe had a misguided sense of heroism.

Seems like a very strange attitude for a pro photographer to have.
I don't
care who takes my photograph when I'm in public but if they make any
money from the result I want a cut.
Don't confuse those newspaper paparazzi with professional photographers ...
Taking snapshots for money is far from serious photography, imho...
Do you ever take photographs in public places with people in them?
Occassionally I do, if they happen to walk by when I'm taking the picture and I don't notice.

But I never took a picture of a person intentionally without asking, ever . It's rude.

Allright, I came across as a loudmouth, I know... ;)

But the mere thought of some ill-mannered dude pointing a camera at me drives me mad; there's a bunch of news cameramen and japanese tourists out there who had to get my greasy fingerprints off their lenses - hit them where it hurts !

I sure won't physically attack people for that, cameramen in particular, most of them are pretty big ... ;)
im sure your right that theyre punks up to no good...

but i find your "in for some serious trouble" comment funny...
what you gonna do? punch them? break their camera? either way it
would be you going to jail! :)

or you might run into a photographer who defends himself...
Won't happen while I'm in the US; they would rather call their lawyer ....
Whoever is taking my picture with any kind of camera without asking
permission first is in for some serious trouble, no matter whether
it's legal or not.
Personally, I have zero tolerance for anyone pointing a lens at me,
and I've been a pro photographer for some 15 years.

That fat lady talked too much, she should actually have called the
cops to take care of those punks.

I think she may need to change her meds.

Regarding the videography, very poor camera work, wouldn't you say?

If they do much more of this sort of thing, they need to pool their beer money and buy a decent video camera.

And third), how ya like to be married to that !!!!!!!!!!!
That's trashing her some more. She appears to have a weight
problem, but she is a human being and deserves to be treated in a
dignified manner.
Who said that her weight had anything to do with it?
I read the comment as having to do with the ranting and screaming.

That type of behavior generally doesn't get a dignified manner in response. Of course, it's totally unknown what happened before the clip starts.

I'm not so sure it wasn't just staged. If it was real she wasn't making much sense in her rant -- claimed "you come here all the time", but later says "you come every couple of years and take illegal photographs".
Every couple of YEARS??

Yeah, 15 years pro photography.

Whatever. Go tell mom to make sure you have cheese snacks in tomorrows lunch box.
