Any of you Mac users out there have an opinion about which is better? The software that came with the camera or iPhoto 5? I've only been using iPhoto 5 for about a week and I am totally unimpressed! E.g., libraries get lost and have to be rebuilt.

Have a good'un...

iPhoto is WAY WAY WAY better than the crud supplied with the FZ30.
iPhoto has some PP ability, but it's no photoshop.
System integration is great too (with iMovie and iDVD)

That's a surprise to me. I've been using iPhoto since it was a baby, now iPhoto5, and never lost a library yet. Editing-wise, I find iPhoto5's features to be so good that I don't need to venture into Photoshop too often. You must be having some "newbie" issues with that program?

iPhoto is my main workflow managment program for both my FZ-20 and my Oly E-500. Never lost a library yet. iPhoto 5 has good "basic" post processing tools for most things. You can also designate an alternate software tool such as photoshop or noise ninja, to handle the heavy duty stuff that iPhoto can't.

Of course, what I really want now is "Aperture". I really never liked the software that came with the FZ. Tried it, and then deleted it. Better to configure Photoshop Elements as an alternate editing program for iPhoto.
