D200, probably no ...

I have a D100 and I think the same thing that you describe has happened to me about 3 or 4 times in the 3+ years I've owned my D100.

I have found the solution to be similar to rebooting a PC. Turn off your camera. Take out the battery for a few minutes. After replacing the battery press the reset button. I'm not sure where it is on the D70 but the D100 is located under the rubber covering on the left side where all the other connection ports are.

I just went to my Nikon dealer and they confirmed that Nov.1st
there will be an announcement of new products, including digital
cameras.

Nothing new here ... but he told me that he had dinner last
Wednesday with a Nikon rep for South California and the camera to
be launched will not be called D200 ... the name will be different
and that the camera is not what the forums describe ...
Nikon hasn't registered any other trademark than "d200"...

This is actually a known defect with the D70. Once you get the GBLOD, it is a gonner. I can't claim this as fact, but I have read that the problem is a 'loose' connection that in turn shorts the main processor board. Seems a stretch that Nikon would have missed a loose connection in Q&A, but that is what I have read.
