PANIC! Please help! CCD error in new 350D?

I have just got an EOS 350D a week ago and just noticed a problem with most of the pics. There is a faint bluish/black line horizontally across the bottom right of the images.

What's wrong?? This appears on both the kit lens and EF-S17-85. It is hard to claim warranty as I bought it overseas.

Did you clean the sensor? Looks like a scratch of some kind.

No, I have not cleaned the sensor. Have only changed lens twice.

looks like a faulty sensor. If you bought the camera from a legitimate Canon dealer, you should be covered for warranty though you might have to send it Japan if your local Canon won't do the work. I guess you could get a quote for a new sensor??? If it were $200 or so it might be worth it to get the camera working. After all it's not really worth anything now!

If it's only a week old get it swapped for another one. I wouldn't except that on a week old camera.
