I just received an email telling me that my camera will be shipped exactly as packaged directly from the manufacturer. How 'bout that?!! Yes!

I am really curious as to what will arrive in the package from
eDigitalMegaStore. I hate to be such as "naysayer" as I work
for a camera store.

Firstly, the manufacturers' very rarely, if ever, ship photographic
goods directly to customers and never, in my experience, to a
residential address.
Again, I hope that I am completely 100% incorrect in my rather negative
thoughts on this transaction.

Okay. I've cut/pasted the two replies (I got anxious yesterday and wrote their customer service and their sales addresses. My question was...exactly what would be included in in the G2 package for that low cost...??

The first reply implies that it will be shipped from the manufacturer. The second reply kinda makes me think that I will receive it exactly as it is packed by the manufacturer. What do you think?

I don't think it might be any problem. I looked at their site. They have a 30 days return policy which is great! Do they charge a restocking fee? Please, let me know.

I've done lots of research and reading of all the reviews and I had narrowed my choices down to three when I read the review on the G2 and found this forum through that review. That's what sold me on the G2. I'm VERY anxious to get it and see what I can do with it. Now, after reading all the posts about the problems with the new cameras, I'm fretting about that. You know how we have these "great expectations...."

I'm waiting on order from EDMG as well. I placed an order on 9/8 and was told that cameras are not available yet; Yesterday, someone called from the store and told me that they finally received the cameras and asked if I'd like to go ahead with the purchase. Not knowing updated price, I have agreed and told him to go ahead with the purchase. As part of accessory-talk, he specifically mentioned that I'd need special filter in order to compensate for darker images (true/false?). I refused and asked for camera only. He didn't insist.
Next morning (today), I find out that price actually dropped from $749 to $689; called them and CSR apologized and told me that yes, indeed, there was a change in the price and total charge will be reduced respectively. He also confirmed that my order information on shopping.yahoo.com will be updated as well.
So far, nothing happened. I did not receive any email from them (other than the one I got the very first time - thanking me for my order..) and order still says "rejected" on shopping.yahoo.com; my credit card is not charged yet (as far as I can tell from CC web site).
I'll keep everyone posted on the progress. They are located in New York, 40 minutes drive from me. Hopefully, I'll get something

i email them late last night, and now, one business day past, I still have not received a reply. Card is still not charged, which can be good or bad.

I finally cancelled my ordered after being told that item is out of stock... it happened after 5 days of calls back and forth (sport interest, really) to figure out whether order has been shipped or not...
Most weirdest/awful experience.
Purchased camera from best4digital.com - 687 + 28 shipping...called before and checked - they claim to have camera in stock; we'll see...

sure, but what's taking so long??? i applied for my amex blue card about 9 days ago...i called the special number and i've been approved but i'm still waiting...arrrrggghhh
on the other hand, i just ordered it through the dell home store using the $100 off $500 purchase coupon at techbargains.com plus free shipping and no tax...total: $699. i know they are out of stock but i placed the order with my regular credit card knowing i can cancel the order anytime before it ships.
