while I appreciate anytime something is given to me free, such that posting you linked to, or this very website (dpreview), I truly wonder about the ethics of some of those Chinese websites....

Did you check out page 10, where they show the diagram of the photosite layout of the 5D compared to other cameras? Does it look familiar? (Did you read Phil's preview?)

The IMATEST results show pretty much what you'd expect... resolution is a bit better than the 1Ds but not as good as the 1DsII...

What I found most interesting was the test of the corner of the 17-40 @17 image... yes, corners look poor wide open.

Thanks for the link, but again, I do wonder about some Chinese websites...

Someone who can speak this language tell this dude/dudette that ISO 50 is a gimmick has more noise than ISO 100 as it is software invented and not native to the sensor.

ISO 100 for noise spectrum and DR measurments (which I haven't seen yet).

Resolves more than original 1Ds and less than 1DsII (very similar to D2X) as predicted by MP numbers meaning that the lens (or its center) is not a limiting factor yet.

Now watch what you say or they’ll be calling you a radical, liberal, fanatical, criminal. Won’t you sign up your name, we’d like to feel you’re αcceptable, respectable, presentable, a vegetable!

let's download lots of full size sample pics from them...

too bad they seem to have done most of the review themselves with their own pics... but to use Phil's stuff is not cool. I can remember Phil posting a news item some time ago, to let people know that several chinese websites were using parts of his reviews and he tried to warn/threaten them to no avail.

eh, the china 5D review predate dpreview, which is not out yet, why talk about who copy who. And not to mention since there are more than 1 billion of them. No way you can say he is the one who copied dpreview before.

anyway, i am surprised that there is no conclusion.

Really nothing was said that we dun already know. it is between 1ds and 1dsmk2. yeah it is 12M, right between them.

Very low noise, yeah the photocell are bigger, made by canon, of course it is low noise.

color accuracy - again canon tune it, so it got to be good

did anyone saw they dress up a stature with girly clothes.

I don't get where the nastiness comes from other than prejudice,

I hope it's an artifact of the software used and not a flaw in the camera itself. The JPEGs look OK so that may be the case. If there's a lot of moire it's a deal-breaker for me.
Looks to have a fairly weak AA filter looking at the RAW
resolution data. Color artifacts are down but the B&W ones are up.

It looks like the Camera might use a slightly weaker AA filter. Just strong enough to avoid color Moire issues. The in camera software then performs software AA filtering to get rid of the rest. This is actually a nice option as Nikon has shown with the D70. JPEGS have issues but the RAW conversion software does not. It will be interesting to get this thing in Dave or Phil's hands for some really good consistent testing.
