when Dpreview will have A610 and 620 review ?

Over 35 new cameras have been announced over the past couple of months, so it may be a while before they're reviewed. Let's hope that Phil and Simon move them to the front of the queue since there seems to be a lot of interest in the A610 and A620. I'm also hoping that we don't have to wait too long for a review of the S80.

I agree - please move the A610/A620 into the forefront of reviews, please!

These appear to be the new sweet-spot cameras that we all want.

Those and the Fuji E900! :-)

I don't know if this is a normal level of interest but a gallery of sample images from the A610 which I put on pbase has had 4000 visits in 10 days.

I am a new here but seriously interested in A610/620
You seems to be the only one here posting pictures with A610.
Can you please post some night shots at Iso 400.
Do you think A610 is better/worse than A620 conserning the noise issue?

Thanks
S

I still haven't taken any night shots but I'll try this weekend. As to the difference between the 610 and 620 I'm sorry I can't help as I haven't tried the 620.

OK as so many people are asking for night shots with the A610 here's a quick snap as a taster. This is full frame reduced size

and this is a 100% crop from the above

I wouldn't plan on any large prints ;-)

Hi guys,
I post this again here, because I did it in the wrong "forum" before...

i've read alot about the first tests made with the A610.
I have one too, and I've shooted about 250 pictures.
I would like to contribute in finding out how good this camera is.

How do I test.. 1) Noise in low light...2) Vignettering...??

Anyone that can write a test pattern about this 2 things. How to do it?

I will post the pictures here so we all can check each other's result.

Thanks in advance..
Regards

I'm still waiting for the review of the A80!!

Seriously, now that Simon is doing reviews too, they have been coming at an accelerated pace. And because the A620 looks like the star of Canon's holiday season, you'd expect them to make this review a prority, don't you think?

Mike

Thanks, that looks pretty good to me. I just placed my order and the A620 is going to be my snapshot camera.

Anything that would require a 1-sec exposure on the A620 will be shot with my XT.
