Mounting Add-On Lenses?

Hi Peter,

I don't think you are stupid.

You can't mount add-on lenses directly, you need a special adapter, like the one I use from Dave B (see http://www.actplus.net/dwh593/ )

I just received by Canon TC-58 an it works great. Olympus has the Tcon 14 B, but that was almost twice the price.
I couldn't find a very basic question in the threads...How do i
mount add-on lenses/fileters on the QV3000? Sorry to be so stupd,
but?

Peter

A few months later.....

I still have the lens and adapter, but hardly use it. Guess it too much work, it looks bad and it limits the zoom range to 120-150 mm.

I was using a teleconverter too, the Olympus C-210 on my QV2900UX. It's even more limited... the zoom range (without vignetting) is limited to 600mm.

quality is good and the lens is cheap (~$39) but the opening is too small despite it being 52mm threaded. The B300 cost too much over at my place(~$150), else I would have gotten it to enjoy a wider zoom range.
so no range at all, only at 600? Well at least a great tele

Peter,

If you're in the UK, talk to SRB in Luton, Bedfordshire... they tailor made an adaptor for me a while back that I use with filters and telephoto lenses up to the magnificanet EagleEye 5x with few problems. Does result in some loss of flexibility of the zoom range of the camera or you get some vignetting but generally I'm very happy with it.

Tigger.

Whoops, that'll teach me to read more carefully, my adaptor is for a QV3500 which has a screw thread and wouldn't work with a 3000. SRB do make a standard adaptor that would work on the 3000 but is only robust enough for filters, not lenses. Their web page is http://www.srbfilm.co.uk .

Sorry,

Tigger.
