naturally doen't work!!!!!!

1 used 1 1 week, it stayed 3 weeks in canon service they gave me this morning and the photos are completly without definition like without good focus.

I'm deserperade !!!

What the problems LOOK like. My brother has a brand new S2. It gets stuck in 'review' mode (yes, I checked the settings) between shots, as if I've got it set to hold the review shot for six seconds or longer. The review time set is 2 seconds, so, it has to go back, I guess.

Please post some examples of the problem(s) you are having with the S2 so we can see exactly what you are experiencing.

Sorry to hear your disappointing report. I hope you and/or Canon can remedy the problem.

Good luck.

;)

For some reason I am unable to view your pictures but are you aware that there is a minimum focus distance depending on where you are zoomed. For example at full telephoto the camera will Not focus on objects closer than 3 ft, and if you are in Macro modes, the distance is much less.

I hope the photo will see now

after

What do you think?

pictures are cropped and made with max telephoto

assuming you were definately acquiring a proper focus (green square as opposed to yellow) then there is definately something wrong... seems like a pretty contrasted object, focus should not have been an issue.

I'm curious: What was wrong with the camera before ? Why did you send it to repair ?

After you got it back... is it the same ? Check the SN.

Have you tried resetting the camera options to factory defaults (keep the menu button pressed for at least 5 seconds).

Have you tried different modes ? What about manual focus ? Are all the pics out of focus ?

Mario,

I think it is the problem with the alignment of the lens with the CCD. You know what, when I found dust on the lens and black spot on the photos, I took the camera back to Canon and the service guy mentioned that he would disassemble the lens and clean it. Afterwards, when I chased up for the repair, he said for some reasons, the lens and the CCD didn't align after the cleaning (presumably he had the conclusion by having some blurred pictures during testing) and he had no choice but to replace the whole optical unit (I believe the lens and CCD combination).

So I think you must take it back and press the service hard to fix it.

Daniel.
