I hope that all of you are OK. Not that I really know anyone here, but still I always enjoy your messages and discussions in this forum. I really hope you haven't lost any relatives or friends due to this terrorattack. My thoughts are with you all.

Thank you Eva...we are all part of this world family, and I appreciate your concern...May we all turn to prayer and reason during this horrible tragedy, and not worry at the moment about retaliation against a few insane people....the pain and suffering that many families are going through at this moment should be our primary thought....my thoughts and prayers are with all whom weep and suffer today...

What really hurts me is that the television showed people in the west bank cheering about the towers destruction. How can anyone wish harm on people that they don't even know or rejoice at the death of hundreds of ordinary working citizens.

While I am disgusted by the rejoicing, I am very worried that such a percise complicated attack took place without the knowledge of our intelligence.

Also, our past reactions to attacks on innocent people...which has been to blow up a deserted military building, has to change.

Think of the training it would take to learn to fly those jets, and you will see that there has to be goverment backing for these attacks.

Goverments that protect these people need to be held accountable, AND PUNISHED with more than a embargo or sanctions.

Thanks Eva for your kind words and thoughts. I live near NY - but not in harms way - and can see the smoke from the area. I've seen a number of posts from regulars to this forum about the tragedy. Its nice to know we have such good friends around the world.

I am not that surprised such a thing can happen, only the size of it. USA, like Sweden, is an open society and if we don't want to live behind walls and fences these things can happen. But they are rare and all normal human beings condem them. Nobody has yet dared to say "We did this", maybe the reaction on their crime was not what they had expected.

I hope the American people won't be so frightened that you think you'll have to proctect yourself from everyone outside your country. We, your friends all over the world, like US the way the nation and your people are, open, warm and friendly. Please try keep it that way.

I live in Arizona, but my sister-in-law works in the World Trade Center. After a very stressful morning we finally got word that she and her freinds all made it out okay. She was on the 8th floor of tower two at the time of the first impact. She felt the building shudderand immediately left the building and the area before the collapse.

It is certain this tragedy will impact many people from all over our country.

Sincere thanks for your concern

Rich

Hello,

I just wanted to say how much we feel for you and for all the people who lost a member of their family, a relative or a friend in this horrible drama. I don't find words, but believe me, there are millions and millions of people all over the world who care and who were shocked.

Eva:

You bring up a great point - I think our way of life may change here forever. I see pictures from Israel every day, soldiers on street corners, tanks rumbling by, and they just deal with it as an every day part of life.

I am not sure I can. I think today we were all (includes all of our friends overseas that witnessed this horrific act) robbed of our most basic human rights and innocence!

Stever

P.S. In times like this you really see who your friends are, and internationally we have many which pleases me greatly! Thank you for your support Eva, and others like you.

I am from Singapore and we live in an open society too.

Coming to this forum often makes me feel that the internet makes this world, a world without borders and that we are all people, with similar likes, wants and most of all emotions.

I am glad that none of the regular visitors or their families are involved in this disaster and my thoughts and prayers to those who did not make it and those who are still struggling in the hospitals.

Rich,

On a day such as TUES, 9/11/01, any news such as yours is good news. Although saddened by what happened, I rejoice with you at your sister-in-law's narrow escape.

My heart and my prayers go out to everyone in NYC and the East Coast, but especially to all who were affected in one way or another by this incident.

May God's peace and comfort be with you all.

Cheers,
shwen

Hi again!

I would just like to quote what the Swedish papers write this morning (it's almonst noon in Stockholm):

"Today we are all Americans" and

"New York is a very vibrant city, so full of life. We thought it was indestroyable. Today we know it is. The Twin Towes will be built up again, the skyline will look the same."

Eva

You Swedes have always been good people!

They will never build on that site again, especially if the preliminary reports of 10,000 lives lost are true. You can expect a memorial much like the USS Arizona. They may re-construct on another site, but not there.

Thank you so much !!

I (we) sometimes feel shunned by the rest of the world, and I wondered if we would get much simpathy, even from Europeans.

Incidentally,

I'll be spending 6 months in your neighbor country (Denmark). I'll be certain take a weekend to Stockholm, to test my new camera photographing your beautiful city. Too bad most of my trip will be in winter.

Hello Eva,

The concern that many like you around the world have for Americans during this time is heartening. It is greatly appreciated.

I live in Manhattan, and the events that have unfolded over the last two days are too sorrowful for words. People here are stunned and saddened, but calm and resolved. Like the rest of the country, we will rebound stronger than ever.

Say a prayer for all those who perished in this tragedy ... and for their families.

Regrads,
Pat
