FZ30 review's up

I think that the people that are going to LOVE the FZ30 are the
panasoicites. They have bought into the system and will rave about
it. But coming in as an outsider and reviewing the real life
pictures in the sample gallery, the noise is simply too much.
(look in the shadows of the ISO 80 pics!)

In the end I think that I am going for the FZ5 (the price to
quality/feature set is excellent)...after all in this higher and
higher megapixel market in which we live...do most people need more
than 5 anyway?
Great adjective, though maybe something shorter like "panasoics" or "panasoids" would be more pronouncable.

But from my lurking here, I find most of the panasoics are really megazoomazoids and that they are quick to compare, and even buy, the latest generation from whatever manufacturer.

Yes, I am a megazoomazoid, and proud of it. I am not a DSLite, I don't want to suffer from megacarrylenseacites. I don't need magazine spread quality, I don't need to pixel peep, etc. I just want to have fun and take good pics.

It's a GREAT feature, but I guess the reviewers only review a
camera in its "pixel class," and 5MP and 3MP derivatives don't even
raise any interest, even IF those features take advantage of the
8MP sensor. Go figure. You'll love your new camera!

I think you are right, and some are still thinking
that it is a kind of digital zoom....
Can't wait to get it!

The Rebel image quality looks fantastic, but is it really fair to compare a huge zoom lens with a 50mm fixed lens at f1.4? Id like to see this comparison using the Rebel with its kit lens. The canon kit lens has is much slower than the FZ30 lens. Is this part of the Canon chip brain implant Simon mentioned?

Your one lucky guy Simon. She is very photogenic - her looks have a lot to do with it!

Enjoyed your review. Keep up the good work!

do you think the boss have a new wifey???
The lady in the gallery shots is wifey, and she ain't new! The girl
in the flash test shot is the same one we've used for a while now
(she's one of our designers and still doesn't know how many people
see these shots.. so don't say anything). Maybe you're thinking of
Jo (Phil's wife) who appears in many of his reviews...
