How many folks out there still enjoy their CP950?
Overlapping shots, looks soft from being compressed for web, original very sharp, note dog swimming in fountain... I gotta do something with these IR shots...

David,

I've had mine for almost two years, and am up to about 7000 pictures. Love it. Yes, it is the 995's older brother, and can't bench press 3.1 megapixels, but 2.1 seems just fine for an amaturesumer like me. I do need to send it in for servicing ( two years of abuse have taken their toll) but don't want to be without it for that long. So I am careful when I take it out of the case so the batteries don't fall out...... john

David I just got 950 on Friday(Yippee),Ive taken about 40 pictures
and am amazed at the quality of photos this 2mp could produce.I was
always a traditionalist and snubed my nose at digital technolgy and
figure it will not match the film quality, but Im a true
convert.I've read every possible review and ask all my digital
users friends about the Coolpics 9 series lines and all had nothing
but praise about these units.I enjoy this camera and its ablility
to be functional with quality photos,I've got a couple of questions
though, when the camera is focusing should it make a slight
"grinding" noise.I know its the auto focus but should it be making
that sound?,second would the 950 users recommended the TC E2 for
telephoto shots or is there another lenses you might recommond, over
all Im very please with the camera and would definitely give this
camera two BIG thumbs up,it may not have the highest pixels on the
market but the macro shots this camera takes are second to none..
First off, welcome and congrats on your new purchase! I am also a very happy CP 950 owner, have been for 2 solid years now...still no problems. Of course, I don't have nearly the use as some folks (I'm in the mid 3000 range now)...but I use it nontheless.

As for your question regarding the TC E2...I have this lense. Honestly, depending on what you will use it for it may or may not be a help. I find it of no value most of the time due to the instances that I try to use it. When at a baseball or football game, I am too far away for it to make a difference. I usually just take a Tiff and crop later. Then again, when I'm taking objects that are within 50 feet, it is a help.

The lense that has been the most useful to me is the Wideangle WC-E24. It is amazing what it can do!

The big downside to any lense however is the inability to use flash with the lense...so make sure you are in well-lit area.

Have fun!

Sam
