I agree. With a correct exposure and some basic knowledge about processing digital files I get very decent results with my D70 (similar to D2X in noise?) on ISO1600.

But I guess if I analyzed my pictures on 500% magnification it would have looked a little nasty...

I never said that I do not get good results at 400 iso. I just said it could be improved
