Guys,

I Downloaded the capture 1 software to try it out and to try the demorize filter plugin in CS2.

I installed, and tried the plugin but it keeps saying did not install correctly and to reinstall from the capture one software.

tried reinstalling several times with no luck.. anyone have any idea on why it will not install correctly?

its certainly a CS2 problem i've used the plug-in with CS1 with no problem but when i upgraded to CS2 the plug-in didnt work, i contacted phaseone and they just told me to re-install into the correct folder but it still doesnt work. i guess they will receive more emails askinf for help. so maybe it will be fixed on there side with a update release....

I couldn't get it to work in cs either. I worked with support at c1 and they never got it to work. I tried it on a couple of different computers, reloaded PS, etc., to no avial. After a several tries I just gave up and won't buy their product. It failed on two different systems, one with cs2, and they seemed to only think the problem was on my side...

You may want to try and contact them. From my experience most people never let them know there is a problem, unfortunately. It bothers me even more when they try and "blame" me. Then, the next rev has a fix! Apparently, I was the first person who reported the bug and they couldn't easily reproduce it. Maybe after some one else contacts them they'll fix it.

Can you elaborate this a bit? I can select the plug in in CS and CS2 but when i recently tried it on a photo I couldn't see any effect at all. I'm a registered user of C1 but haven't contact Phase One concerning this because it was the first time I tried to use the plug in and thought it is user error. Didn't you encounter any effect on the moiré or didn't work the plug in at all?

No, I am getting an error message up when selcting the plug-in from the Filter/Phase One menu listing in Photoshop. It says that the plug-in is not installed correctly and should be reinstalled. Howver, when installing the plug-in, not only does it find the correct folder for Photoshop CS2 Plug-ins, it even proudly proclaims that the installation was 'successful'! I think it's about time all software contained a self-test routine to ensure that all is well before making such meaningless declarations.

Are we talking about Mac or PC?

I'm using a PC with XP Pro. I installed the plug in for CS and I could just copy the plug in to the corresponding location after applying the CS2 update and it is selctable in CS2.

Yes, mine is a PC with XP Pro too. Hmmm.... so exactly which folder did you copy it too Nirto?

The plug in is located here:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Plug-Ins\DeMoirize

It only works with 8 bit depth. I tried it on SLR/n files and D2x files but couldn't get any usable result. It does seem to change the noise distribution in shadows but doesn't defeat moiré a bit. Strange ...

That may explain things then. I do not have my Software files located on the 'C' drive as I have partitioned my hard disk into several drives. I am going to create a new directory path manually to match your configuartion above, and see if I can trick it into working that way.

Sorry I cannot comment on this aspect as have not been able to get that far yet! ;-) I'll try with the trick I mentioned above first, and report back here if I can get it to work.

UPDATE:

Nope, still no joy. I even copied the plug-in to the Photoshop Only directory without success. The puzzling thing is, that if Photoshop has actually located the plug-in and listed it in the Filters menu, how can it possibly be 'installed incorrectly', as it does not depend on any other files in order to function?

UPDATE:

Regarding your complaint about the plug-in not doing much in the way of 'DeMoirizing', I did notice the caveat given during the install routine:
'Only for distribution with a Phase One Light Phase camera'.
Perhaps it's a snobbish plug-in? ;-)

I get the same message as Keith saying it isn't correctly installed. Again, I worked with C1 support to no avail. Being I was only demo-ing, I gave up. If I had bought it it would have been returned if a fix wasn't readily available.

You're going through the obvious, and some of what C1 tried to get me to try. I also tried different bit depths and file types. Still couldn't get it to work!

As I mentioned before, please contact C1's support.

strange, I am running XP Pro and CS2 and cannot get the plugin to work, and I am pretty computer literate, and know my CS2.

so far no solutions. :(

Maybe you have different versions of the plug-in?
