S1 Sensor life....When will a camera where out??

I have an S1 Is. When I look at the file # on the computer it says 5598. Does this mean that in a year I have taken 5598 pictures?? If so how long can I expect my sensor to last? What is the life of a sensor on the S1

Other components will wear out or break long before the sensor fails - shutter, flash (my G1 flash is dead), dials, buttons, LCD, lens motors, circuit board, fuses, etc.

I am on shot 16,582 today and it is still going strong. I have had my S1 for almost a year. I have never had a problem with it and am looking forward to many more shots. It is my first camera and has been a great learning tool. Catherine

Cool, I have caught the bug bad so I hope the camera will keep up. So does the file # mean thats how many pictrues I have taken. I know that I take alot. I am learning so its tiral and error sometimes, but 5598 shots in one year...that seems like alot. Guess anything is possible.
