Nikon Lenses Link Collection, now online

It's only 24 hours ago, that I posted this link:

http://home.zonnet.nl/famwakker/nikonlinkslenseswelcome01.htm

to the Nikon Lenses Link Collection.

Are you just as curious as I am, what this resulted in? Well, according to the stats, the Nikon Lenses Link Collection within 24 hours received:

786 unique visitors, out of 50 countries, with 2464 pageviews.......

Great result, I think. But what's more important: I hope you like the link pages, and looking at your respons, you do!

Kind regards,
Jan

I have been lurking here for several months trying to sift thru the measurebating, lens lusting, geek gushing, and hubris of the camera cognoscenti. I have learned a lot and am grateful to very many.

Jan, you have done a TRUE SERVICE TO MANY thru your sedulous efforts. Kudos from those who seek to capture lightning in a bottle/a slice of life all over the world!

As you go thru life, don't forget to stop along the way to smell the roses.

And sure, it's ok to put the link on another site/forum, as long as
you mention me too. ;-))

The more people using this list with pleasure, the better.

Isn't this what forums are for?
Helping each other?

That's why I like the DPreview forum so much!

Kind regards,
Jan
I most certainly have

:)

Hi bjn70,
I can't get to any links, maybe there are some images that aren't
loading.
Those 4 green boxes should have been 4 buttons.

I used flash buttons for it. To be able to use them, you will have a flash player installed. That is a more or less standard these days, nothing special. But probably you don't have that (or it doesn't work properly), for some unknown reason.

You can download it for free from:

http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

On that page is a short instruction how to install it, too. It's a small download and installing is easy. So, give it a try........

Succes!!!

Kind regards,
Jan

Hi Gabriel,
Thanks for posting this, great resource.
Thanks!!
In Third Party Lenses, this link is dead:
Outdoorphotographer: Tokina 12-24/4.0 ATX PRO
Thank you for reporting this.

I'll check this. It can be a maintenance problem, or something with a server, but if it stays broken, i'll remove it.
Now you gotta maintain all that stuff. Do you know what you got
yourself into? :)
Yeah, right. I hope most of those links will stay the way they are.....
Kind regards,
Jan

I checked the dead link. It appears that they have changed the link, to bring it more in line with their other links. I've changed that on my link pages. It should be working again.

Kind regards,
Jan

I am always looking though bookmarks, fumbling for a site that's hidden somewhere. You've obviously worked very hard on this project. I've bookmarked it.

Thanks again!!

Hi to you all,

First of all, I's like to thank you for the compliments you gave me for the Nikon Lens Link Collection at http://home.zonnet.nl/famwakker/nikonlinkslenseswelcome01.htm

I'm happy to see, that you find this mini site with links so usefull.

I also want to point you to a possibility, that I don't think everyone has found yet (looking at the stats):

On the Lens Review pages for both Nikon & 3rd Party Lenses, it is possible to sort the link collection by site, or by make/lens. That last one is maybe a bit hidden, just above the table. I suggest you try it, because for me it is very handy.

I hope you wiil enjoy these pages for now and for a long time to come.

Kind regards,
Jan

Hi Bjn70,
for a person who can't get flash? Maybe direct links somehow?
Why can't you get a flash player?

It is more or less standard these days, nothing special. You can download it for free from:

http://www.macromedia.com/ ... ... download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

On that page is a short instruction how to install it, too. It's a small download and installing is easy. So, give it a try........

Succes!!!

It wiil be helpfull on visiting other websites too, flash is in common use on the internet.

I could give you direct links to the other pages, but on avery page there are the same buttons, to go from one page to another.

So I strongly advise to download the small file (it's about ca. 400 kb only) and install it, using the description on that Macromedia page from the link above.

Please let me know if it works. You are the first one that reports this problem. Flash is really common. I've used this kind of buttons on other sites as well. For years now. And never got any complaints. So you must be able to get it to work. You don't have to be afraid, follow the Macromedia instructions. You will be ready within a few minutes.

Kind regards,
Jan

IE is too open to spyware and adware. Running IE you're a sitting duck.

Before I switched I spent too much time running spyware programs to clean my computer, and I find that no matter what the reputation is for a spyware program it will not clean everything so you have to run several of them and do the rest of the cleanup manually.

Now that I run a different browser I just laugh at the spyware, have not had any problems with it in quite a while. But unfortunately Macromedia hasn't caught on.
