When I had not received the rebates by early August, I contacted a
supervisor at the Continental Promotion Group in Scottsdale, AZ,
where the rebate requests were sent, and a supervisor at Viking in
CA. At that time, 13 August, no rebate checks even for approved
submissions were being issued according to the Continental
Promotion Group person. I explained my concerns to the Viking
supervisor in a telephone call and pointed out the "rebate anger"
on the dpreview forums. She promised to look into it immediately
and assured me that I and everyone else would receive the rebates.
On 16 August she notified me that she had gotten rid of the
bottleneck and the checks would be going out shortly as David,
TheVikingGuy, was explaining on the dpreview forums. Five rebate
checks arrived 8 days later and the last two arrived within two
weeks after that.
The rebate problem(s) should have never occurred, but having been
notified of the problem(s), Viking seems to me to have taken
appropriate action to see that rebate checks are issued. I am
satisfied with their response and since I like their product a lot,
I will buy from them again.
