any one actually get their Viking rebate?

I noticed the Viking rep. posting about the rebates a couple of times on this forum. I've e-mailed him twice and have gotten no response from him. I saw that a few forum members had their names added to the rebate list, but I haven't had any luck even getting a response.

Same here, and I'm pretty p--ssed off about getting ripped off again on one of these rebate scams.
 
I just received an email response last week regarding my rebate. I sent in my problem (UPC from electrostatic bag) during the first Viking thread. After about three emails back and forth resubmitting my address and phone I received this response "Your rebate was resubmitted on 8/14/01 & is going threw processing. Please allow about 10 weeks. I'm sorry the process isn't more speedy."

I understand the checks will have the greeting "Have a Merry Christmas" printed on them.:)

Yes, I got my rebate 10 days ago.
Remember, I have submitted me request in April.

My name was on the posted rebate list because I e-mailed the Viking Guy at the address he provided

i got a "your receipt is dated too early" rejection from viking last week. i've resubmitted, copied the VikingGuy (with no response), and emailed Amazon customer service. Amazon confirms that the rebate is in the proper period, so i've sent the reply along to the VikingGuy. hope he's listening.

My name was on the list that was posted and the check was supposed to be mailed in 3 days. Up to now, no check. Hmmmmm?
I'm beginning to lose patience.

I still haven't seen my name on the list. Still haven't heard anything about the email I sent. Still haven't gotten my rebate.

I also noticed that Viking has another rebate program going on for September purchases. Do you think they've fixed their program, or is this going to be screwed up as well?

I did receive my rebate only took 3 months and an e-mail to

"The Viking guy" I would never trust them again. I have no doubt I would have never received it, if it were not for this forum.
 
I was also on the list. But he said 3-5 days and if you allow 5 days for delivery I think that puts us at Friday or Saturday.

Uh oh. I heard about the Viking rebate sale at Amazon.com from this forum - purchased 2 flash cards plus recommended to my son. Now I read about these problems. Could you please repost the email address of the Viking guy? How do you get on the approved list? And also, which UPC code do you send in - the one on the box or the one on the silver electrostatic envelope? Thanks. You all have me worried!

How do you know that person was a Viking rep ? - would you bet your life on it ?

It's pretty easy to sign up here and use any name you want and say anything you want. That could have been anyone.

Anyway, just my thoughts, I mean if it smells fishy to me.

By the way, I'm really Tiger Woods, - would you bet your life on it, I'm not ?

I would get the email addy of this person, and his name, write the MAIN office, and also give them a phone call, and see if there really is a guy by that name that works there..... something isn't right there.

I received the last of 7 $25 Viking rebate checks today. My rebate requests were submitted between 9 & 22 May 2001.

When I had not received the rebates by early August, I contacted a supervisor at the Continental Promotion Group in Scottsdale, AZ, where the rebate requests were sent, and a supervisor at Viking in CA. At that time, 13 August, no rebate checks even for approved submissions were being issued according to the Continental Promotion Group person. I explained my concerns to the Viking supervisor in a telephone call and pointed out the "rebate anger" on the dpreview forums. She promised to look into it immediately and assured me that I and everyone else would receive the rebates. On 16 August she notified me that she had gotten rid of the bottleneck and the checks would be going out shortly as David, TheVikingGuy, was explaining on the dpreview forums. Five rebate checks arrived 8 days later and the last two arrived within two weeks after that.

The rebate problem(s) should have never occurred, but having been notified of the problem(s), Viking seems to me to have taken appropriate action to see that rebate checks are issued. I am satisfied with their response and since I like their product a lot, I will buy from them again.

I too like their products and believe they are a reputable company, but their rebate program is the worst I have been involved with. It is a quandry whether to buy from them again. If, and that is a big if, I do purchase their products again, I would never count on receiving the rebate in a timely manner, if at all. Still waiting for mine. (mid June submittal)

Oh, really? THEN WHERE'S MY REBATE CHECK???
 
The UPC off the box is the correct one.

Well, although I never received a response from the Viking rep. I emailed, I'm happy to report that my rebate showed up in my mailbox today. I sent my rebate in late May or early June.

Like many of you, I too have not received my rebate check and had submitted the correct information as well as contacted the Viking rep. In prior cases where companies tried to weasel out of paying my rebates, I had contacted my State's AG with measureable success. If that fails, we should consider a class action against Viking.
