Just received my Casio EX Z750 today and wanted to get either a 512MB or 1GB memory card. Any suggestions on what brand or place to get a good deal?

That looks like a great deal on that Kingston 512MB cards. Maybe you want to consider buying 2 of them. Meanwhile, most people will encourage you to buy the largest capacity card that you can afford. Casio recommends a FAST card, but "regular" cards seem to work OK - but they are slower (IMO) when it comes to saving & displaying a 7MP picture. Here are some other choices.

512 MB - FAST card
$50 San Disk Ultra II - newegg.com ($45 + $5 shipping)

1 GB - FAST card
$90 San Disk Ultra II (60x) - newegg.com ($84.77 + $4.81 shipping)
$90 San Disk Ultra II (60x) - Costco.com

All the best...

Some Casio Support guy was mentioning on other site that both 750 and 500 are incompatible with fast cards, DO NOT use fast cards is the advice, I am damn surprised!

I purchased the Ridata 1GB from newegg several weeks ago and it has worked flawlessly in the Z750--I highly recommend it....especially for the price.

Regular speed Kingston 512MB SD card for only $18.95 after rebates:

High speed Ridata (66X) 1 GB SD card for only $51.44 + $4.81 shipping:

I can highly recommend the Ridata card and that is the lowest price
ever. Sale ends 8/24 @ 5:30 PST.
NewEgg had them in stock, but I checked for reviews first:

All the reviews were good with no problems....

Thanks Dave,

These sound great, and if I can't find anything local to pick up, I'll definitely buy from newegg.com

Thanks James,

I've read several of your threads before buying this camera. Now when your talking about a card being fast (60X, 40X, 150X, ect...) Where is this speed going to make the difference? I understand that 512mb is less than 1gb, but I don't get you can have a "faster card".

The biggest difference will be the writing speed of the card. This allows you to resume taking pictures faster and there should be less drain on the battery due to faster write speeds. Any manufacturer that only lists a speed (40x, 60x, etc.) and does not list the read & write speed - makes me suspicious. San Disk states their number quite prominently:

The new SanDisk Ultra II CompactFlash memory card has a minimum sustained write speed of 9 megabytes (MB) per second and a read speed of 10MB per second. These speeds are supposed to be faster than "regular" cards, but most of us can't document it. In my experience with digital cameras, San Disk's faster cards appear to be just that - faster. Either way, try to buy from a source that will acccept a return if you are unhappy with your purchase. Just bought the Adata 1gb 150x card and performs very nicely (shipped for $62 on eBay). Do not go with the 512mb card. With the excellent video on this unit, it pays to have that capacity- especially if you have kids.

He was all over the place in the other forum even giving his name and phone number.. so was a bit concerned, but, glad to hear that there is no problem with fast cards!

Recently I bought a 1 GB San Disk Ultra II + a Dell printer from Dell for about $68 shipped. I guess especially for these cute Casios one must utilize the wonderful movie feature to the optimum by going for a 1 GB card, and I feel nothing compares to the performance and looks of the San Disk Ultra II !!!
