~~Hot~~ photos!

I guess there's supposed to be a photograph attached to the forum message on each of those links, but all I see is the text, no photographs. The responses to the OP indicate that somewhere there's supposed to be a photograph to view, but, as I said, I see none when I open the link.

They tell me I have to type something sensible before I can post. I sure hope this works.

Overexposure, as in some highlights being blown, is not always a
bad thing.
There's more to being over exposed than just "blown out". It means "lighter than it should be". And of course "should" is a matter of opinion.

So in MY opinion, the photos are over exposed...but not because they are "blown out".

My point is simply that sometimes people are going for a look that calls for some overexposure.

That's what "high key" involves, for example.

Well, overexposed does not necessarliy mean blown out, but that statement is irrelevant here, because when the face is so 'overesposed' that the nose blends in with the cheek, (and is indistinguishable from the cheek), I'd say that it's blown out.

Maybe sometimes people are going for a look that calls for the photo being 'blown out' ;^) (smirk) sorry, but we can agree to disagree; on my monitor, the face is definitely blown out.

I'd argue that it's a look some photographers intentionally "shoot" for. Look up "high key photography" on the Internet and see how many noses blend in with the cheeks. Lots.

What part of "in my opinion" is hard to understand? I realize that the photographer is developing a syle -- and I can understand that some would like it. Shoot, I liked the photos --even if, in my opinion, they are over-exposed and over processed -- for MY taste.

And in YOUR taste -- they are HOT HOT HOT :)

I like the first two sets, the beach snap I could do without.

A little bit of whimsy never hurt anyone, and I can't believe in a photo forum that people would neglect the part that creativity plays in good photographs.

Please show me how you do this type of photography. I would be interested in knowing your techniques.

I want to make clear that I'm not totally uncritical. I think the posts I made originally in defense of the photographer were responding to the overly critical original comments.

Except for the conversion to monochrome I would say this shot is also the least post proccessed. I understand that PS or its like is a fact of life in todays photography, but the plastic looking skin in at least one of those shots is a real turn off.

Now, except for that plastic look I think the images are really very good. And far better than what I typically turn out...and this is why I never do ports.

You know, the black and white probably seems less processed because you're not as close to the subject.

Truth be told, women often prefer pictures of themselves when their skin is softened, wrinkles removed, etc. So do men.
