Cliff Dwellings (IMG)

Nice images Bob. This looks like an interesting place to visit;
I'll have to add it to the never ending hit list of places I must
see ;^}

Doug

Thank you very much. The area has extensive ruins and you can spend days there if they are of photographic interest to you. There are also extensive excavations of pit homes that go back many thousands of years but they are not as photogenic so I haven't posted any of them.

Never been there in my life but thanks to the Search facility on this web site, I have gleaned quite a bit of info from you guys. One query for any NM resident on this forum--what are the temperatures like in late September? I imagine NM is arid and unlikely to have a rainy season? Sorry, that's a second query. Thanks in advance, Peter

which is just about on the border between New Mexico and Colorado. At that location, expect the following weather:

August.....Sept
Normal daily max temp.............78F........72F
Normal daily min temp..............48F........42F
Extreme High..........................89F........87F
Extreme Low..........................33F........22F

Normal monthly precipitation.....2.2".......1.1"
Days with measurable precip.....10.............6
Number of clear days...............11...........15
Number of partly cloudy days....14...........10
Number of cloudy days..............6.............5
% of possible sunshine.............70...........70

The climate in that region is essentially arid.

there in Mesa Verde 1985, shooting photos with my old OM-2. What a contrast to where I lived in Australia.

Now with an E1 and a better understanding of what constitutes a good photo, I hope to capture better pix. What a trip it should be! Cheers and thanks for everything, and to all, Peter
