Just got an "Ansmann Digi Cam Power Set". This is a fast (circa 1 hour) charger with a discharge setting, plus 4 1800 mah batteries. It seems to work very well and will make living with a D7 and NMiHs much easier. It is compact and also comes with a set of plugs for just about every power socket in the world - so no problems travelling. Cost £35 from Digital Depot (www.digitaldepot.co.uk).--Vince Cunningham

Is this a different charger than the Ansmann Powerline 4? If so, what are the differences?

Then it take 3,6 hours to charge a 1800 mAH batteries not 1 hours as you stated.

This time is the time calculated with the formula suggested in the Ansmann site (www.ansmann.de) that means :

NiMH capacity [mAh] / 700 mA 1.4 = 3.6

700 mA is the power of Powerline 4 on AA connectors
1.4 is the efficiency charge factor
Is this a different charger than the Ansmann Powerline 4? If so,
what are the differences?

I cant find it on this UK wesite, please provide a link within the site for the charger

So is it exacly the same thing? Is one an improvement of the other? You said it takes shorter to charge (I know this was answered, but I don't think I could understand what the difference actually was). So it can't be the same! Is one better then the other?

I have read somewhere that this new model has addional plugs while the Powerline 4 has only one type for example US, or European or so.

Unfortunately, they do not have separate page links.

Digi Cam Power-Set Part # 5507133 for UK and 5307133 for US.

Powerline 4 Part # 5507083 for UK and 5307082 for US.

I think the only difference is that the Power-Set comes with 4x 1800 batteries.

I'm not sure if they both have all the plugs but the one I just bought in the UK (Power-Set) did have. I don't have it with me so I cannot check the part # on the package.

I still cant find it

Thank you very much

Henri, I got that right. What I need to know is if there is any actual difference at at electronics of the charger internally. There should be since it takes noe hour only to fully charge a battery. Don't you think this might be too much for a battery to withstand? I think it's like "baking" the battery!

I hada look at the Ansmann website and there is a huuuuge range of Powerline fast chargers. Does anyone know what the actual difference is between them all?

Some for example have can only charge 9V batteries. However, Powerline 4, Powerline 5 and Powerline 6 can all charge NiMH AA batteries.
And what is the bloody difference with the Digi Cam Power-Set?

Hello Pabletto: I looked it up on the Ansmann site: I think both chargers are the same: the seundary current is for both 4x1.45V = 700mah/200mah

Hello Pabletto: looking at the Ansmann site, I beleive that the DigiCam Power set is the Ansmann Powerline 4 + additional plugs; the output for both is 4x12,45V=700mah/200mah

Now, the powerline 5 and 6 are "bigger" version that cccan charge AA and bigger batteries

Hmmmm, seems pretty logical! I had not noticed that and you seem to be right. Thanks Henri! That was really helpfull.

By the way, I e-mailed Ansmann in Germany and asked where I could find the Ansmann chargers in the UK. They gave me contact information of their Managing Director of ANSMANN UK Limited in Essex, but they said he is on holiday this week so I'll contact him next week. If anyone needs any info, let me know.
