Hi everyone

I've been away for a while, travelling in the south part of Iceland. Here are some pics from last 7 days, we have encountered unusually sunny and warm weahter here for the last two weeks. It would be interesting to get some comments on what you think of this landscape. The pictures are from the National Park of Skaftafell and a remote place, Thorsmork (Þórsmörk), guarded by several glaciers. A lot of icy pictures before the glacirers melt away.

The Glacial Lagoon:

Svartifoss (Black waterfall):

Myrdalsjökull glacier. Undernteath is the active volcano Katla, which erupts every 50 yearsÞ

South coastline of Iceland:

Homage to Marcel. One of the very first picture I fell for was a picture by Marcel from a glacial river in New Zealand, if I recall correctly.

Fine pictures from a beautiful and very unusual (to me, at least) landscape.

My favourite is the waterfall picture with the rainbow - absolutely stunning!

Thank you all guys for your kind comments. I will be gone away now for several days, if any of you will be visiting Iceland, it would be ok to drop me a line. Ole, a Sigma shootout did not sound like a bad idea...
Regards, Halldor
