Pro 1 A few Test Portraits

Portraits look their best if shot at 100 mm zoom.

That makes the noses smaller compared to their faces, and thus more flattering.

It is worth a shot.

The 4th pic of the little girl is very beautiful. Not sure if you did a crop or not, but a little more hair on the left would be great. All the pics are great. jano

These are nice and sharp ! I like the first portrait (is this your wife?) - great blurred background !

Looking good with the Pro1 and a boat - how fun!

I just love this camera, here are a few of my test portraits.

The boat is just something I plan to buy, love the 28mm wide end.

Hi Stephen Ployer,
First off all: crisp, clear, sharp, nice shots!

...but maybe with a few tips they could be even nicer ;-))

IMHO the first 3 shots would all have benefitted if they were taken in 'portrait' mode (as opposed to 'landscape' mode they are in now)

...and I agree with another poster, that a bit more zoom (between 85mm/135mm) is advisable for portraits, gives nicer faces (no big noses ;-))

In the first shot (your wife) the sunglasses are a bit dual: IMHO it would be nicer to shoot her without the glasses, so you see her eyes, or with darker glasses/more reflecting glasses (so you see yourself shooting ;-)) and no eyes at all, like it is now it is both, and a bit too busy/distracting/much for my taste ;-))
...and again, as another poster mentionned, some more hair on the left would be great, but you explained that already ;-))
The boat is just something I plan to buy, love the 28mm wide end.

...nice boat, nice 28mm... ;-))

...as always, just my €/$0.02 worth...

-- Well done and enjoyed them but more interested in the boat as I had a yacht for years. Is that for a lake? I haven't seen one like that before but looks great for swimming in a lake and having lunch or does it sleep with a cover on?
