Ok, I was bored. I had to kill a couple of hours in this teeny town called Central, SC. This machine looked like the newest thing going. I guess I can't believe anyone lives there. What on earth do they do? Like a time warp.

Camera: E10
Settings: Who Cares

Mods: Some Photoshop, don't remember what. Images take some serious massaging to get it to look like an analog shot.

Later,

Wish you'd get bored more often, if you come up with stuff like this. Really gives me the sense of place. I like how you've left in the strip of green at the right, serving to balance the scene and provide context for the place. Nice.

I think there is a definite distinction you can make with all photographs, whether they are merely found or created. Obviously the created photograph would in most cases have more merit. It typically includes visualizing what you want to get before you come across it.

This is definitely not one of those cases. If it were, I would have seen the location, returned to it many times, and photographed it in the conditions I would like to see it portrayed in. Take my other post, the one with the dashboard shot. That is an entirely created image, not found. I had a definite need to convey the concept of travel anywhere shoot anywhere. It think it brings more weight to the photograph. It's not something tactile, but you can just tell when someone 'created' the shot as opposed to just finding it.

As such, this photograph fails completely in that respect. I was just knocking around this little town and there it was. I would have been very impressed with it in my first or second quarter of photo school, but not now. I mean, yes, it's an ok image, but not one to hang my career on. :^)

Thanks again,

Marc
