Re: Amazing ISO 800 & 1600 Nikon D1H samples

I see the article and the pictures but I do not see any banding in them.

I'm not sure what I should see, to see this banding, I've downloaded one of them and looked fairly carefully and I'm pleased with them.
I would agree that this is a huge improvement on the D1 high ISO
noise, but am I the only one that is noticing significant banding?
What do you mean and where can I look for it?

I couldn't see any banding. Maybe the viewer complaining has a banding monitor???

I do see "soft lenses" tho... or not 100-percent spot on focuing.

Well folks I recieved one of two D1H's at my work Aug 13th (midwest Newspaper)

the color improvement's are amazing the TTL actually works now and there is NO Banding!!! I have shot for a week now with this camera, half of my assignments at 400 the other half at 1200-1600 ISO.I wish the original D1 did this! the only problem I have encountered was Battery life.It seems to be 60% of the Original D1

Well, I must say I feel a little foolish. After all the comments to the contrary, I went back to double check what I saw. That was earlier today, and I could not see any banding. So I waited until tonight when I could remove any ambient light in the room with my monitor, and still no banding.

The only thing that I can think of is that somehow I was using a different jpeg viewer. Sorry for all the confusion. At the very least I'm sure we all got a VERY good look at the images. I know I did, and I am evermore impressed.
