Hi,

I finally bought my D7 this morning (paid £880 inc VAT + £330 for 1GB Microdrive from Tottenham Court Rd shop in London)

Minolta must read these forums, as they've included a separate addendum in the package that everyone will notice first.

It states clearly that the D7 has a wider colourspace than other cameras, and that the MIVU should be used to aquire all images.

Secondly, it now states that the pack includes 4 x energiser 1600mah Ni-MH batteries and a charger instead of the Alkaline batteries (which it does). The charger is an AAA, AA, C, and 9V type with 2 x LEDs, but isn't a fast charger.

They've also included details of free phone and Internet based support in the UK 0870 0104 107 or [email protected]

Thanks for everyone putting the effort in here. Its paid off for me with these new changes (even though I already new about the colourspace, most won't).

Cheers,
Tim

The addendum was in my box weeks ago. I think what's
happened is Minolta UK have had a chance to deal with this
given the gap between the launch in Japan and the rest of
the world and also their PR people have probably had to deal
with more journalists and reviewers who've queried the
colour quality.

£330 for IBM microdrive seems a bit steep to me, just paid £258 (inc vat and delivery)

You may also be better off with either 1800mah AA's or Energizer lithiums which last even longer that the 1800mah AA's.

I never trusted Tottenham Court Road dealers actually. It seems that they took back the money that Tim saved for the camera. I would never buy anything like a D7 from there. I would only go there if I wanted someone (eg Jessops) to match the price.

In my case with the D7 I proved to be very lucky. I saw an advertisment of the D7 being sold GBP849.00. I showed it to Jessop's and they matched it. What they did not know was that the D7 advertised was not in stock and the guy told to me that when they have it in stock the price will go up to GBP1,000.00!!!! So, I paid GBP849.00 the second or third weak the D7 was launched in the UK, plus a LowePro bag and lots of memory all at about 20%-25% discount because the dealer seemed to like me!!!! He actually did a price-match on his own through some magazines and computer!!!!

Bottom line is: why buy such a delicate equipment such as the D7 from a risky dealer if a trustworthy one can give it to you for the same money (by price-match)?
