Leonardo...

I love all the shots! Not to detract from your wonderful shots, but
I would like to share a similar experience.

We met in passing (as I clicked away). I said "Thank you" as I
passed. He said "You're certainly welcome". It has become one of my
favorites because of the complete serendipity of the shot!

For Steve,

Thanks very much and your fine image "certainly welcome". Great face and great expression Steve and a fine image and the story makes it even more interesting.

I like the one with the girls best, not because of the contrast (old vs young, fresh faced Vs crinkly) which I am sure was your intention, but because you have caught great expressions. Everyone in the shot looks happy and natural and alive. A great shot and one of few like this on the forum. It's what portraiture should be all about.

Now that I have seen photography - I can shoot myself (Picasso)
Hi Martino,

Thanks my friend but... everyone here on earth is exceptional I think. I'm already concentrating on how I will photograph him in the studio on of these and will post some results. Sorry but made an error in the thread here and instead of putting the name of Wilfred Wong I put your name in.

With very kind regards,

Dirk

Love the second, fourth, sixth and last ones - all worthy of
publishing and selling as prints. I take my hat off to anyone whom
has the courage (or nerve!) to approach a stranger and ask them to
do a sitting for them, and you done so in such a generous
non-invasive fashion - bravo!

I see you profile yourself as a graphic designer / photographer -
out of curiosity, have you sold any of your photographic work yet
or had it published?

Hi MadScot,

Thanks for your very fine words and appreciation. No I didn't, I'm not very interested in the commercial side, I received many mails from people asking for buying prints but I prefer to go out and make new images. Recently a good friend did a proposition and we started a new company together, he will take part on the commercial side, he will contact galleries and publishers (I have tons of material on my hard discs). The published ones are all for my clients and commercial or product shots or for annual reports etc..

With very kind regards,

Dirk

Hi Jules,

A French name in the UK, funny. I asked these girls who were sitting nearby in the café if they would do that and they agree immediately. I said to them 'Had you ever thought that you would be photographed in the café of the Museum together with Leonardo Da Vinci?)

Maybe that was making them looking happy. Thanks for the fine words and appreciation.

Dirk

and I would look at the display in the window. Although I am not
generally comfortable with portraits, his work was very
inspirational. He swept away your preconceptions and forced you to
see the subject. You have done just that here. Very nice.

Hi Jim,

You made me blush with your fine words, thanks a lot for this very fine appreciation. I'm photographing very different subjects but it seems that I'm returning to my first love in photography, portraits.

With very kind regards,

Zo'n kop ! Ik kan best verstaan dat je die man niet kon laten
voorbij lopen zonder het hem te vragen...

My very best regards,
Dominique
Hi Dominique,

Merci.

Special the shot with the girls, the girl at the right is really
intrested in the man and not in the man behind the camera ;-)

Thanks for sharing this beautiful face

Jan
Hi Jan,

Thanks very much, haha, you know the girls were all from Groningen. I will share more when I have photographed him in the studio.

With very kind regards,

Dirk
