Hi All,

I have a lot of great pictures I would like to send to my parents. The only way I can send them the pictures is to print them out. I bought them a DVD player (which plays CD's) for Christmas.

Is there any way to present a slide show of my pix on a TV? I started looking into this and ran into a pretty hard wall. I am amazed there isn't a slide show software that can go on a CD to show on a TV independant of a computer or the camera. Anybody have any idea's?

Yes, you can. Try Nero software and you have to use a CD-ReWritable disc to make it work. Just make sure your DVD plays CR-RW. And there are other software too that you can use but I prefer NERO.

I use flipalbum CD maker to make slideshows with music. I have not tried it on any DVD player other than the one in my computer, but I supposed you could ask the folks who have created the software whether it can be played on a TV.

Hi

You can create Video CD's with a lot of the different CD Writing Packages. This format will play on certain DVD players, like a slideshow on your TV. The problem is now whether your parents DVD player will play DVD's.

Ive considered buying a standalone DVD player for a while and notice that a lot of the players will play back Video CD's etc, but tmost of them tend to be the low end ones you can buy at computer fairs for about £100 - £150 - that also play mp3's from a cd and just about every other known format too.

Failing that, what I do somethimes is simply record to video tape, the output from my camera or laptop - this is probably the easiest way as everyone has a vcr that will work fine.

Hope that helps

Hi peter, I encounter the same problem as u do and I been searching the net a all night untill I found a great solution for me.

first but first u MUST Own a DVD player that can play VCD'S. Second, this Dvd must know to play burn disks and its recomanded that he can play MP3 disk, but if u don't have a DVD that can play burn cd's dont worry most of dvd player will know to recognized a CD-RW disks (so u can work in a little bit lost space and money but finelly get it to work).
well befor we continue, I didn't say it before but u must have a CD-R DRIVE :) .
Well now that we all have that it's time to make the slide show.

get your self a program named WINONCD By roxio company recomanded ver 3.8 (to make Slideshow with audio albums) or the 3.7 ver W/O audio support and go to vcdhelp.com to learn to work with her.

It's the most simple program on the world and it's make wonderful slide show with color menus and music by wish
P.S

My DVD player is LG 3351-P (in the UK 3350) and the winoncd prog cost about 70$ but it's worth it
so have fun and enjoy

Im not familier to what is the best software for producing CDslideshows, but I can tell you... any DVD will play the PRINCO brand of CDR, I got a pack of 50 from http://www.Maplin.co.uk for £12.49. Only cd's I've found that play on any DVD player.
