Lightning....how to photograph?

I set the camera on a tripod and steped down the aperture as far as you can go. I think I was about f/22. I then used a polarized filter to reduce the light even further. Set ISO to 100 and then shutter speed. Point the camera in the direction of the storm and shoot as many as possible. ALWAY BE SAFE - Not good to stand in the middle of the fairway next to a tripod - so I moved inside when the strom got to close. The darker it is outside the longer you shutter will be open, so just expose for the scene and try to capture a bolt. NOTE: This storm is further away then it looks.

Have fun.

wow stan, those 2 are great shots! well caught and well done!

what was the shutter speed?

City Lights,

I noticed those shots are from Elsinore and that's where I live!!
Do you live in Elsinore?

I looked at your profile and it says you live in Nevada.

What were you doing in Elsinore?

I see. I attempted to shoot those fireworks too. Mine didn't come out too good since I didn't have a remote and kept shaking the camera.
